Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
To be frank I don't know, I don't own them right now. I ordered the he-4xx and want to at least do a pad roll to test, but don't want to break the bank at the same time. Was wondering if angled was making a difference ( I could order BW sheepskin round pad on sale if that doesn't matter). Is...- ultimdan

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
Hey guys, is there any consensus on pleather vs sheepskin angled hm5 pads. Here it's 40$ for pleather and 65$ for the sheepskin. If the sound is the same, but the quality is better I'd shed the 25$ more, but if pleather sound better, it's a no brainer. Thanks and regards, Dan- ultimdan

What the $^&# heck is it?.........iFi iEMatch!
Yes, that answer my question really well. Thanks a lot for your time. I'm still considering this or the headphone buddy to have more volume knob range available for my low impedance headphones on my SS amps. Would it work great, or is it only for iem?- ultimdan

Hey guys, Do you think that product would help using low impedance headphones with OTL tube amp? Or would it still color the sound too much? Regards, Dan- ultimdan

Recabling my old iem, yay or nay?
I've bought some Monster Turbine Pro Copper a while ago. They are still working fine, but the Control talk remote has become wobbly and the stress relief has broken (tried to repair it with glue.... didn't work). I asked btg audio for a recable, but he want 85 usd for the recabling + I need to...- ultimdan

Earbuds Round-Up
Hey guys, I don't see a lot of talking about MusicMaker/Toneking TO300? Is there any reason? Here is a link to the earbuds I'm talking about : Link. Also, is the K500 balanced, a balanced connector that needs a balanced amp? Thanks, Dan- ultimdan

Earbuds Round-Up
Hey guys I'm hesitating. I want to buy some earbuds. TP16 + mx98s or just tomahawk? I have a fiio e17k and a go vibe petite amp for amplification. As for sound signature, I'm pretty ambivalent. I love my momentum and also my hd25 which are really different. I also have a woo audio 3, but I don't...- ultimdan

Earbuds Round-Up
Hi All, first of all, thanks for this wonderful thread, it is full of great info. After some reading, I got the upgraditis unfortunately. I currently own Yuin OK2 which I love, but I'm really interested in the new ToneKing/MusicMaker TKY2. Do you think it would be a worthwhile upgrade? ...- ultimdan

Should I return my newly purchased HF3 for used Triple.fi 10?
Hi all, after some other reading, I've come to a final choice. I can have either the MTP Copper with Controltalk (it's actually on cable) or Triplefi 10vi for the same price used. (~200 USD) Which one do you think would be best for rock, metal, techno and movies? I've checked all...- ultimdan

Lets Talk Metal
Sorry if it has been answered, but the thread is so long, I didn't read it all. Are there any metal head here enjoying MTP Copper/Gold or Triple Fi 10? I'm searching for a iem with Ipod control and mic that are good for Metal music. I already have the JVC FX500, which I like and HF5 which I find... -
Should I return my newly purchased HF3 for used Triple.fi 10?
**** you Head-Fi!!! After listening to many songs with my HF3 and comparing them with my fx500, I found that I miss bass too much. Then, I started reading too much threads and decided to strech my budget. I read that the MTP Copper are great straight of the DAC. As I'll be using them a lot...- ultimdan

Should I return my newly purchased HF3 for used Triple.fi 10?
Hi all, thanks for you advices. I think that I will not be able to really find something that would really match my hopes for under 200. I really like the mic and media controls on the HF3 and don't completely hate the sound. They are pretty good for fast metal, but really bad for techno...- ultimdan

Should I return my newly purchased HF3 for used Triple.fi 10?
I'm looking for something like Grado (esp. RS-2). So, good mids, great highs, not too much bass (but maybe a little bit more than the HF3). I don't hate HF3 sound at all, tough a hell different from the JVC FX500 I have, but find that maybe it would be a little upgrade in the bass department. I...- ultimdan

Should I return my newly purchased HF3 for used Triple.fi 10?
The title says it all. I just bought a pair of Etymotic HF3 for 144 CAD from Amazon and found that I can have a pair of Triple.fi 10 used for 170. Would it be a worthy upgrade? I'm mostly listening to power metal. (startovarius, dragonforce, Iron Maiden), some rock, goth metal and little bit of...- ultimdan

Having a deal for a used Woo Audio 3
Ok, I've decided to buy it. I think it will be a good start. Any price suggestion? I know that the amp cost 470 new and the DAC is often found for 100 and below. Would 350$ be a fair offer?- ultimdan

Having a deal for a used Woo Audio 3
Hi all, I'm a long time lurker and always found what I needed without making new threads. But today I really need some advices. A friend is offering me a Entech Number Cruncher 205.5 + Woo Audio 3 combo. I've tried it with my HD595 and my friend's SR325i and I really liked the sound of...- ultimdan
