Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Certainly can't see any "cracks" in the photos. When enlarged they are too soft to see anything. Somehow I don't think these are actual cracks but then again the photos don't show well. I've seen numerous instances where people think the 846's have something wrong but it's just the reality of...- hockey_magnet

Reluctantly selling my SE846's These have been by far the best iem's I've ever owned. I'm only getting rid of them because I don't listen as much on a portable basis and decided to go with full size bluetooth cans for around the house. Just can't justify keeping these for occasional use. New...- hockey_magnet

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (or M) VS Plantronics Backbeat Pro
The Plantronics sound very good. Granted that currently Bluetooth sets do not match up to corded but they are excellent. The comment about build quality is way off base. The build quality of the BB Pro is every bit as good as a similarly priced cabled set, if not better. Not really fair to make...- hockey_magnet

Similar to Plantronics Backbeat Pro
I just bought the backbeat pro and they are great. Excellent value, The controls are excellent. They are big but very comfortable, Honestly any around ear phones are going to be close in size but they don't fold so that may be a factor. I also have the Bose Soundlink II around ears, which I find...- hockey_magnet

Mine are identical - not a defect or stressed - I'm sure it is adhesive/epoxy that is used to anchor the connector to the shell. since this is a manual process, some may have more or less but if you hunt for photos, all of the actual photos, (not promo shots) have some degree of this cloudiness...- hockey_magnet

My 2 cents: Don't think it's a new top of the line - It may have some kind of tuning adjustment - any ideas as to what is that fuzzy looking little black thing just above silver disk around the Shure logo on both pieces? Could these have NC or BT? Cable definitely looks pretty substantial.- hockey_magnet

Thanks - I'll have another look since these blues are a replacement set I just got from Shure. - first time I've heard of 2 pieces of foam. Long story too but this is my second Blue mod. The first one I accidentally removed both the foam and the fabric at the larger end so those are now just a...- hockey_magnet

How big is the foam insert in the nozzles? Sorry guys but I tried searching and gave up. I got around to modding the blue filters - the foam I removed is very short in length. 1/8" or so? Is there any more foam further down the nozzle ( I know there is a filter at the other end - I'm just...- hockey_magnet

My 2 cents worth - ok, my $1K (Canadian) worth . From my perspective they are worth it and from what I can gather through research, they are a bit of a bargain, strange as that sounds. - Compared to some of the high end customs, they hold up well to iem's selling for 50% more and they can be re...- hockey_magnet

Just an up date and clarification - the price I finally got from SHURE Canada for just 1 pair of blues was $40 - Makes me wonder why the price is more than double the U.S. SHURE price when the other items sold on the 2 sites are just the U.S. $ differential (20% give or take). I agree with you 100%. It's not like they ONLY make them as REPLACEMENTS. They have to produce them in relatively large numbers to ship with the headphones anyway. - $1000 for the iem's vs $140 for three tiny pieces of plastic is nuts and you're also right that the foam insert will definitely...- hockey_magnet
