The next time you're in a quiet room, plug your ears by sticking your index finger over your ear canal entrance (rather than pushing part of your lobe to close the entrance). What do you hear? I'm curious because I usually hear a bit of a ringing noise.. not sure if this is normal or not.

When I plug my 50 Ohm Senn HD-595's into the headphone jack of my receiver, I get quite a bit of hiss (even when nothing is playing). Is there any way to get rid of it, or is it due to the low impedance of my headphones.
