Ok thanks, this is the first time I bought from Price Japan and was expecting something similar to Audiocubes.

Thanks for everyoens help, I went and got the AT-HA25D, and I'll be putting the money into better quality music, ie buying CDs. Once I've got the proper quality of music only then I think it makes sense to go upmarket with the amp and DAC and properly make use of the W5000.

Has anyone heard the AT-HA25D? There seems to be some positive reviews of the HA20.

The noise floor would be a worry of mine as well, since I would expect that it would be silent or nearly silent. I would think that the W5000's are very efficient headphones, hopefully someone else can chime in here with experiences with AT headphones and the CanAmp.

How does the CanAmp pair with low impedence phones like the W5000 considering they were voiced with high impedence cans like the HD600 in mind?

The thing is that I don't have an amp at the moment at all, and my decision to be made is whether I go out and buy a DAC such as the Squeezebox that has a headphone out, or go and buy a proper amp to run of the headphone out on the MBP?
