Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread
Has anyone contacted UM Australia recently? I'm trying to get a reshell organised and I've even sent them back the form. Yet no word on whether they have received it or even process it. What's the normal turnaround time? From reading head if it looks like people have had mixed experiences and...- renesis_au

Price Japan problems?
Hi everyone, Just seeking everyone's advice on this. I ordered an amp of Price Japan last Friday as well as sending payment, and I've yet to receive any type of notification apart from an automated email asking me to send confirmation that I have sent them payment before they start packing...- renesis_au

Amp for W5000 on a budget
I wasn't a very big fan of the Corda Aria with the W5000's. It sounded good but for some reason to me it didn't fit with the character of teh W5000's. The guy who bought my Aria auditioned the W5000 and he also didn't like the pairing of the W5000. I guess they are a bit picky, but that could...- renesis_au

Amp for W5000 on a budget
Thanks for everyoens help, I went and got the AT-HA25D, and I'll be putting the money into better quality music, ie buying CDs. Once I've got the proper quality of music only then I think it makes sense to go upmarket with the amp and DAC and properly make use of the W5000.- renesis_au

Amp for W5000 on a budget
Thanks guys, I sent the seller an PM. Otherwise M3 looks like a very popular choice for the W5000's. If anyone else has any other suggestions please contribute.- renesis_au

Amp for W5000 on a budget
Hi all, Again I've got the feeling I want to move up from the Corda Aria as I seem to get the feeling that they are holding back the W5000's. Ideally I want to get a headphone amp and DAC combo but unfortunately they are either too expensive or in the case of the Presonus Central Station...- renesis_au

Corda Aria vs Presonus Central Station
Thanks for your informative advice devwild. For the time being, I'll keep out an eye for the Presonus Central Station, and if the right one comes along I'll sell my Aria to fund it. Then maybe a tube amp will follow in a couple on months, the Woo Audio looks interesting....- renesis_au

Corda Aria vs Presonus Central Station
Hi guys, About a week ago I read some very interesting threads that indicated that the Presonus Central Station as a DAC and headphone amp is highly rated for its sound quality considering the components it uses. This sparked my interest and well I'm pretty interested as I don't have the...- renesis_au

Just got my w5000!!! (obligatory pics added - 56K BEWARE!)
Well I got my W5000's a few hours ago and they are very enjoyable. A bit brighter than I was expecting but plenty of the good AT colouration, and so far it's been very enjoyable especially with female vocalists. Plenty of bass, well controlled and smooth without overwhelming the rest of the...- renesis_au

Thanks Steve, just needed some confirmation before I went out and ordered one. Could the aluminium rods in anyway be scratched by the stand? -
Headphone Stands
I'm in the same situation and I'm looking for a headphone stand for the AT headphones coming in. Because the AT's are built differently has anyone been able to hang the AT on the Wooaudio headphone stand? Just not sure if the headphone stand is wide enough at the top to support the two metal... -

Congratulations on your W5000! Mine's just arrived in Australia but unfortunately they don't deliver on weekends so I'll have to wait till Monday after work to open them! I ordered mine from Audiocubes as well, so they packed it really really well from the sounds of it. I'm sure there are...- renesis_au

Heed CanAmp
The noise floor would be a worry of mine as well, since I would expect that it would be silent or nearly silent. I would think that the W5000's are very efficient headphones, hopefully someone else can chime in here with experiences with AT headphones and the CanAmp.- renesis_au

How does the CanAmp pair with low impedence phones like the W5000 considering they were voiced with high impedence cans like the HD600 in mind?- renesis_au

Squeezebox as a headphone amp?

Squeezebox as a headphone amp?
The thing is that I don't have an amp at the moment at all, and my decision to be made is whether I go out and buy a DAC such as the Squeezebox that has a headphone out, or go and buy a proper amp to run of the headphone out on the MBP?- renesis_au
