Minneapolis Meet 9/20/14
And I don't like beer. You should all bring lots of beer for me to try. I might have to try some repeatedly just to make sure I don't like them. ;)- Hase

Minneapolis Meet 9/20/14
One more late addition here. I just moved here a couple days ago and only have my Alessandro MS-1 cans. Oh, I do also have a Yamaha THR10C if anyone wants to hear that guy. Small guitar amp with built in DAC, headphone out. I'll throw it in the car in case. Any idea what the cost breakdown is...- Hase

Question about Volume Knobs on Amplifiers

Question about Volume Knobs on Amplifiers
Thank you! Without breaking into the math, I think I get it and your explanation helps a ton. If no one wants to venture into the rest, I'll start a new thread in the computer section (linking to it from here so I don't start parallel conversations).- Hase

Question about Volume Knobs on Amplifiers
I'm enjoying this discussion. It's been a while since I've read about this stuff and I'd like to make sure I'm following what's going on here. Please correct me where I'm wrong so others following the thread like I was might get the bigger picture. In a common home PC running Windows 7...- Hase

coffee-fi
I'd recommend everyone who really wants to get into coffee, go to your local roaster or shop for a cupping (usually a free event). Learn what you like about what you're tasting. Just like acoustic signatures, "I like that one" means less than "I prefer a brighter coffee with more clarity." ...- Hase

What book are you reading right now?
+1 on the anything-by-Sagan. Just wrapping up Sam Harris's "End of Faith" and despite not being in 100% agreement with everything he thinks, it's incredibly compelling and thought provoking. I'd recommend it to anyone of faith or not for some great concepts to consider.- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
Well, Subsonic is working very well but it still doesn't add either of the features I'm looking for. It diminishes my desire for the smart playlists but I use ratings constantly and need that function. Currently, it appears to only support rating albums. I'll join the forum, maybe I can find...- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
Subsonic sounds interesting. God knows I have enough little Alix boxes around I could pop one up tonight. I see that it can accept ratings, but does it also support tracking playcounts and have anything similar to a smart playlist (I still want to be able to start a somewhat random playlist or...- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
I agree, but this particular rig is more for convenience than quality. Quality I do at home or with another portable setup (that I am reminded I need to add to my sig). So, still looking for the bi-directional syncing solution...- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
Quote: Okay, so if I give up on the smartplaylists, what can sync bi-directionally? I rate as I listen then use those ratings elsewhere. I do use PlayerPro and found that I like it more than anything else, it'd be nice to stick with that. What about moving all my ratings and...- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
I tried both. WinAmp does not yet support DAP-to-computer syncing so songs I've played don't update on the computer and therefore don't fall off the smart playlists. I don't recall what the shortcoming was with doubleTwist. I'll look at it again. EDIT: doubleTwist does not sync...- Hase

Android or separate DAP?
I've finally made the switch to an Android device but can't seem to find a way to meet my music needs. I ride a train to and from work everyday so I make frequent use of my DAP. I like to be able to sync it once a week and replace all the music I've listened to with stuff I haven't for a...- Hase

Phonak Audeo Defect Thread
My wife just brought her PFEs to me with the right channel very low volume compared to the left. This is the side with the mic on it; not sure if that's relevant. Anyway, I saw only one other person with this problem on the summary post of this thread. Has anyone figured out this issue or...- Hase

What's your "reference" song?
Quote: Great reply! If I wasn't so lazy, I'd break out my list like that, too. I'm surprised not to see more Radiohead. Couple of references to some "In Rainbows" tracks, which has been my "quick" reference for the last year or so. -

Concur with the separate mic suggestion. While I've not heard the suggested Sure line myself, I'd look at those. What do you have now and what are your likes/dislikes?- Hase
