New model Cowon - Plenue D2
I have the strangest problem with the D2. The volume setting goes all the way to 140 but it caps way before that. As far as I can tell, 108 is the max and it doesn't make any difference past that. Does anyone else have this issue?- JBThazard

Maverick Audio Tube Magick D1 Plus Replacement
Looking for a new full size dac/amp/preamp combo as my D1 is getting old. It should preferably have line-in for my DAP and USB dac output for my PC as that's what I mainly use. Similar price point as the D1, so $200-$300 but a little more expensive is fine. I use Senn HD600 and Monolith M1060.- JBThazard

Question about DAC Filters with Cowon Plenue D2
I recently just got a Plenue D2 and while I really like it, I have a question about the DAC filters setting. What do these do, exactly? Because I was expecting it to have as noticeable a change on the sound as the EQ but I can't really notice any difference. There are 5 settings: Fast / Low...- JBThazard

Looking for closed-back headphones (balanced)
I've been using the Beyerdynamic DT1350s for a couple years. i like them a lot though they may be too "neutral/clinical" for some, which is why they aren't my main cans. They have good mids. Not especially warm, but not bright either.- JBThazard

Sparkos labs Discrete Op-amps causing squeaky-static noise in headphone amp
To cut to the chase, I use the Maverick Audio Tube Magic D1 Plus Headphone Amp + DAC and just today got three of Sparkos Lab's Discrete SS3602 op-amps, but there's a problem. One of my three opamp slots is causing an issue. If I plug in one of the discrete op-amps into this slot, there is a...- JBThazard

Need replacement cables for Monolith M1060
Long story short, I've owned these headphones for half a year and the stock cables are terrible. I have the revision 2 M1060s and they have dual 2.5mm that plug into the cans, and a 3.5mm for headphone amps, etc. So what are good but not expensive replacement cables?- JBThazard

Need Help with scratchy volume knob on headphone amp
I see, never considered that. I've had the same tube for about 3-4 years now, could it be getting too old? I was actually planning on upgrading to a Tesla 6CC42 pretty soon- JBThazard

Need Help with scratchy volume knob on headphone amp
Yes, I removed the top lid of the case and sprayed the cleaner around the BK100 connector thing that's attached to the knob. I noticed that some static was reduced so it definitely cleaned something out, but I still get that right channel cut-off or the scratching noise while turning in certain...- JBThazard

Need Help with scratchy volume knob on headphone amp
So I borrowed some contact cleaner from a neighbor and try to see if that fixed the issue but it didn't. I think there's less of a "static" sound now but the crackling noise still happens when I twist the knob, still looking for someone to teach me to remove the knob and get to the bottom of this- JBThazard

Need Help with scratchy volume knob on headphone amp
Haven't tried any contact cleaner, I want to unscrew the knob from the Bk100 and see if I can clean it or screw it back into an optimal position- JBThazard

Need Help with scratchy volume knob on headphone amp
I have the Maverick Audio Tube Magic D1+ and for a while now the volume knob creates a crackling or scratching noise when I turn it. I tried a lot of different advice, like turning the knob with the amp off or opening up the case and dusting it out, but none of it has worked. I think the...- JBThazard

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
Okay I see. I checked the ZMF website, which kind of pad is going to be better? I'm stuck between these two, as you can go with suede with eikon pad type, or eikon with suede pad type http://www.zmfheadphones.com/pads-and-cables/zmf-suede-earpads...- JBThazard

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
I just got a pair of M1060's a couple days ago and I have the 5K ringing problem. It sounds more like a very distracting whistling that's in both drivers but more prominent in the left one. I have an unmodded revision 2. Does anyone know which mods can reduce or get rid of this ringing? Just...- JBThazard

New Amp w/ Hd650s: USB into laptop, or line-in into Cowon?
Ok, I've done a bit of research on the topic and this is what I've found: the DAC of the Tube Magic 1 has these stats: THD 0.0007%, SNR 120dB, Stereo Crosstalk -102.3dB The DAC of the Cowon Plenue D (whatever its name is) has these: THD 0.004%, SNR 123dB, Stereo Crosstalk -105dB It...- JBThazard

New Amp w/ Hd650s: USB into laptop, or line-in into Cowon?
The reason I got the D1 was because they came with the HD650s; came in a used bundle. I'm just more accustomed to my Cowon and find it's UI better, is all. Thanks for your replies, very helpful.- JBThazard

New Amp w/ Hd650s: USB into laptop, or line-in into Cowon?
The idea is that I like the UI and touchscreen of my Cowon more than using Winamp, plus the portability of it makes it easier to just lie in bed while switching songs.- JBThazard

Ok, I think I understand now. The Tubemagic's DAC should sound better than the Cowon's since that's what it's main function is, right?- JBThazard

New Amp w/ Hd650s: USB into laptop, or line-in into Cowon?
Title says it all but let me clarify a bit: I just got my first ever heavy duty audiophile stuff: the HD650's and a Maverick audio TubeMagic D1. I'm not entirely sure precisely how this works compared to my previous, more portable setup (HD598s and DT 1350s through PA2V2 amp). Basically...- JBThazard

Cowon Plenue D
The UI is not terrible but is a downgrade from the J3, no argument from me here. However after just a day of experimenting and comparing both, it really is just a matter of deciding whether the drop in UI quality is worth the upgrade in sound quality. For me, the answer was easy.- JBThazard
