Anyone had a shure530 modded by brian recently? The work looks great, he`d would have made a fortune a few years ago with the 530`s.

Great thread people, thinking of getting the yamms for a friends birthday soon, however i wondered if u guys could answer a  question firstly? If shure had offered me the 535 for £240 without returning the 530s i would also go for it, unsure as to where you are based, if you kno someone in the US it may be worth trying that route, like i posted earlier, not 100% on this, but could be worth a go. Hope you find a fix.

Hey jinx, the four digit number does end with a 6, but on the flip side there are five or six smaller numbers that are just visible, although a magnifying glass would be needed to make these out. Loving your efforts again m8.

Oh p.s  Unsure has to the truth of this, but spoke to a guy, not on head-fi i add and he says shureUSA have been exchanging 530 sets even out of warranty? Like i say, i`m unsure, but "hats off to shure usa" if this is the truth. Hope this can help you guys over there if any of you are...

Cheers dabomb+scrane, your probably right on both accounts, still well p@@sed off though. Wish i`d have known that the 530`s could`nt be worked on before i took the plunge. Would anyone buy a car for example if they knew it would have to be scrapped if it broke down after two years? I doubt it...

Liking your thoughts again jinx, however i think i would come unstuck on the iem`s having this number stamp on the jack? Think they would know when the turnaround came on the cables. Keep em coming though my friend, all suggestions are greatly appreciated this end. :-)
