get the most convenient phones of the better ones mentioned here I don't think anything in this price range is really going to blow your socks off, so there's no reason to make huge sacrifices like portability or comfort for small sound improvements...I'd stick with the PXs if I were you...

I was somewhat under the impression that 225s perform great unamped and with cheaper sources but improve less with better amps/sources, while the HDs underperform with cheap amps/sources but shine with better quality stuff. Is it wrong to make the assumption that the 225s aren't worthy of this...

If they had sounded at all decent TO ME (no flaming please), I would have kept 'em. The design is neat...and fit was good with all but the triflanges. Takes some getting used to, but the concept is great...which was why I was drawn to them in the first place....

Just to keep this grounded...I disliked these phones...so make sure you have the option to return them if you're considering getting a pair because their sound sig isn't liked by all. Build-wise, you might suspect they're made from cheap plastic and the cord and lil' pod would be easy to...

those GCs carry mid-range/low-end stuff...no Grados, HD580+, canalphones (even cheap ones)...frustrating since they told me they had this type of stuff on the phone..think the phrase was "everything in production"

Which are better suited to this higher-end setup...SR225s or HD600s...I can get them for practically the same price. Or are MS-2s and 650s clearly better in this case?
