I bought edition 8's recently, I think I prefer my HD-25-1 II's :rolleyes: They are my favorite closed headphones (most used at least). Rich bass and (IMO) excellent soundstage. If I had to choose only one they'd be on my shortlist for sure. Truly appreciated!

Been playing with this rig for a while, Whiplash balanced cable with RSA Protector. Is a pretty nice match, I love the IE8's bass- listening to a lot of House, Wu Tang etc. I can't imagine customs could be that much better...???  

Is an EBay LOD, just a low profile generic dock with a hole drilled in the side and re-cabled with copper wire, sounds great!

iPod Nano 1st Gen, RSA Protector & Senn IE8's (Balanced) A pretty small rig, the Nano holds about 90 lossless tracks, usually House, R&B- bass heavy beats (although, got a  little Wilson Pickers on there atm). I reckon the IE8's & the Protector are a pretty good match- nice bass

Thanks olor1n! I think Audeze are doing a fantastic job with the LCD-2's, if the Grado's hadn't worked out the headband would have gone straight onto my LCD-2 mark-1's, although, I don't mind the metal and foam that's on them now. As for the thread........:rolleyes:

Thanks for all the ideas- I ended up buying a headband and yokes from Audeze and using the Grado rods- the Audeze band adjusts with a grommet screw, so even though the Grado rods are slightly narrower I just put a little tape around them and tightened the screw. The cups don't move around or...

I hadn't really considered looking locally, an auto trimmer is a great idea. I was thinking about doing something myself, but given my track record it takes me a few goes to get things right- can't really afford to do that with my beloved PS1000's. Thanks!

Nah, I traded my HD800's for them & just can't seem to make them comfortable- maybe I got the terminology wrong, I meant just different headband & yokes. I don't want to mess around with them too much, just hybridize them a little......

Hey thanks, I probably should have mentioned that I already have a Jmoney V2 fitted, I'm looking at fitting the drivers onto a whole new assembly, I'll definately have a look at the V3 though. I was thinking something like Audeze's new headband for the LCD2, probably too big.

I've scoured Head-fi & can't find a satisfactory solution to this question: is there an alternate headband that will fit or can be easily modded to fit Grado's PS1000? The PS1000 is probably my favorite headphone for most types if music but I find the headband not really suitable for the weight...
