I got them a couple days ago...and I am amazed. Easily loud enough. I've never had hours go by listening to music so quickly. Also want to say thanks to everyone that's helped me on this forum because you all completely pointed me in the right direction. The idea that there are better headphones...

I'm thinking either just the basic FiiO E7+E9, or the Nuforce uDAC-2 combined with the Schiit Asgard.   My guess is that the latter option would sound better, but if so, how much better would it sound? And is that difference worth the extra money I would be paying?

I felt the same way when I tried out the M50's at my guitar center today. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's that they weren't burned in or something but I was 99% sure I would buy them there unless I was completely dissapointed by the sound and I was.

No I only listened to the one pair. The only other possible thing I could think was the problem was my phone has a pretty big case and when I plug a larger 3.5 jack into it when I move the phone it will come out. It came out pretty easily when I used the jack from the M50 so maybe if it wasn't...

I have an HTC Incredible. The store wasn't very loud, I was one of the few people in there. I don't think I listen at an insanely loud volume, but pretty loud.

The only store that has them is a guitar center that's 40 minutes from my house. Drove there to listen to them but didn't plan on buying them cause they're $160 there while they're $110 on amazon. Was really dissapointed when I could hardly hear the music from my phone with the volume at max. I...

I've had the X1's and X31's only so I can't say. Only that the X31's are great. My friend had the X41's and X31's and he said there wasn't much of a difference. I think he was only talking about gaming though and not music or movies. So I guess this post really doesn't help at, lol.
