Qinpu Q-6/Q-2 or Audioengine A2 for desktop setup
Same price if you include the A2 stands, Q-6 have stands built-in. I'm drawn to the Q-6 because of it's psuedo-dipole pattern (I'm a big Magnepan/open baffle fan). A2 seems to be the tried-and-true choice. Which would you choose and why?- csholtmeier

Suggestion for Head-Fi'r who prefers ADDIEM over CK10 and MTPC.
I've had the ADDIEM for quite a while now, longer than I've been a member here. After upgrading my home full-size setup, I decided it was time for a good portable set. I first tried the MTPC. I got them refurb, so I figured it was a small gamble. Not my cup of tea at all. Flabby bass...- csholtmeier

Apple TV 2 Coaxial Digital Output Mod.
http://www.hackint0sh.org/f286/192941.htm Thinking about trying this on my 2nd Gen Apple TV. Are Toslink and Coaxial digital signals "interchangeable" like this?- csholtmeier

Recommendations for portable setup. Are customs for me?
Looking to pair a good set of IEM's with my new iPad 2 for travel. Isolation is important. Currently, I have a set of HE-6's at home and a set of Fostex T50RP's at work. Right now I have the Apple BA for travel, which are decent, I guess. I just borrowed a set of Shure SCL-5's from a friend, and...- csholtmeier

Magnepan rig for HT/Music.
I'm absolutely loving my HE-6/Virtue One.2 combo, and I'd love to get the same sound in a 2-channel HT/music rig. The caveat is that I have a child on the way, so I'd like to get the wall-mount Maggies. Either the MMG W or MC1, with a small sub to fill out the lows. I think I'll repurpose...- csholtmeier

What's the deal with Audez'e?
Just got my email that my set is ready. A good month longer than the Audez'e site indicated. If I continually produced results at my job a month after I said they'd be ready, I wouldn't have a job that allowed me to buy such premium items as LCD-2's. And before members start chiming in...- csholtmeier

Thinking about picking up this set of Grado HP-2's
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140490122266 Wondering if this is a good deal. Obviously these need some work. Is Grado still offering restoration services for these?- csholtmeier

Grado RS1i or straight to LCD-2 for rock?
I currently have a set of Denon AH-D7000 with MarkL mod, and a Stax SRS-2050mkII (for getting my feet wet with electrostats). I love the Denon's for classical, jazz and anything that's slow ,sparse and dynamic. Rock and metal are a different story. I feel like the Denon's just can't reproduce...- csholtmeier

Gain staging with Duet and Stax Energizer
Currently using an Apogee Duet with my MBP. I have a Stax 2050 mkII rig on the way. I've already ordered a custom breakout cable with male RCA's, so Duet line-out>>Stax Energizer input. What's the ideal way to run the volumes with this, as the Duet has a volume control, as does the Stax...- csholtmeier

Recommend upgrade from Apogee Duet
I'm currently using an Apogee Duet with my MacBook Pro and Denon AH-D7000's. I like the increased depth and better bass than with the MacBook headphone out, but the Duet seems to make things sound "rounder" and more "glued" together. I use a Sound Blaster card at home, and although it is noisier...- csholtmeier
