Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Impressions
if you got the on-ear ones then prepare to be disappointed. They have a strong V shaped sound iirc. The bass on them will blow away the 558s for sure but the 558s will blow away the momentums with literally everything else. If its the over ear model then nevermind me lol, I've read they have...- LegendX48

Looking for On-Ear headphones ~ $150
Alright, looking into those and the Creative Aurvana Live 2 as well at the moment. I'm actually in the process of returning a pair of the Urbanite on ears >.> I liked them quite a bit more than the momentums but they were still far too v-shaped for me. Some songs sounded fine with...- LegendX48

Looking for On-Ear headphones ~ $150
Thanks for the heads up about the typo, KG Jag, hadn't noticed that lol I actually owned a pair of the momentum on-ear for about a day last year. I really dislike the V-shaped sound, there's just too much missing for me.- LegendX48

Looking for On-Ear headphones ~ $150
So, I'm looking for a new pair of on-ear headphones for my portables (iPhone, 3DS, etc) with a budget of about $150, give or take. I previously had the Beyerdynamic DTX 350p which I loved but the headband broke apart. I've been looking for something with a similar sound, something...- LegendX48

Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Impressions
Guess I'll share my initial impressions real quick. Picked up a pair of these earlier today (black/red) from Best Buy for $164. I like the look and build but after hearing/reading so much about these I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed in their sound quality out of the box. These being the...- LegendX48

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
I've been looking around for a good amp/dac since I got my Sennheiser HD 558s and after a bunch of posts here and elsewhere the Aune T1 and Astro Mixamp were brought to my attention. I want something primarily for music but something that can also do gaming, pc gaming that is, and the usage...- LegendX48

Recommendations for Sound Cards for HD 598's?
I wouldn't put much weight into my opinion on the DX though, as I said I used the thing for less than a day lol Unfortunately I can't recommend anything as I'm in the same situation as you right now except I have the HD 558 instead and I've been looking at stuff like the asus xonar essence...- LegendX48

Recommendations for Sound Cards for HD 598's?
iirc the xonar DX is the pci-e version of the D1 not the DG. That aside I can't really say much for either, I've used the DX before but only for about a day or less, can't really recall. All I remember was being extremely disappointed with it (used it with a pair of Sennheiser HD 448s) because...- LegendX48

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
I'll be looking around for those. My only concern now is that while I do want something primarily for music I am a gamer so would an Aune T1 still be a good choice or should I look into other options?- LegendX48

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
Quote: I have no experience with either tube or solid state so I can't really say, all I've ever used is onboard audio from my computers. Is there a specific place or site where I can get the Aune T1 or is it something I'll have get from ebay?- LegendX48

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
My pair arrived Monday afternoon, did the foam mod after a couple hours of use and so far I'm loving them. Anyone know a good soundcard or dac to pair them with? Only have onboard stuff right now and I was thinking of just going for the Asus Xonar Essence STX soundcard but the whole impedance...- LegendX48

You know what, I think I'm just gonna go with the Sennheiser HD 558s but I do have one question. Amazon warehouse deals has them for $129.75 used - like new and I was wondering, is there an issue with fakes with this particular pair or should I just grab them new?- LegendX48

Quote: thanks for the response. I'm talking to a friend about this as well. The AD700's price is tempting but my other option is just save up for the Sennheiser HD 598s and I'm kinda leaning toward that latter.- LegendX48

I said nvm but heck, I'm asking again lol. Just how lousy is the bass on the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700? Their current price ($99) on the amazon memorial day sale is all kinds of tempting. And what about the AKG K240 studio headphones for that matter as they're also going for a similar price?- LegendX48

first off I'm a bit of a sennheiser fanboy, 2nd I just noticed the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 are currently $99 on Amazon. Are they better than the Sennheiser HD 448s? Only asking that cause those are the best headphones I've ever used and they broke quite sometime ago :( edit: actually...- LegendX48

Comfort- Audio Technica ATH-M50 vs Sennheiser HD555 vs Senn 448
I don't know much about the 555's or the M50's but I do have the HD448's and I love 'em I frequently wear them for long periods of time with no discomfort. Not really sure how to describe the sound but I'll try. The bass is great but not overbearing, very clear and clean and I...- LegendX48

First Substantial Purchase: Sennheiser HD438
if they're anything like my 448's then yes they'll require a good deal of burn in...about 30 or 40 hours or so oh and start re-importing your entire music collection in either 320kbps or flac as well- LegendX48

good sound card(s)?
I've been looking through some sound cards, mostly the creative stuff, for my new pc. I listen mostly, if not exclusively, to my music in flac. Anyone here know of some good sound card's that aren't too pricey?- LegendX48
