Try taking out the cable and pluggin it in backwards - the angled end into the headphone and the straight end into your player/phone. It will now work just like any stereo cable with no mic. Should work with any device you have this way.

When I'm not at home I am using my TMA-1's with the mic cable from the Beats by Dre Studio. It gives play/pause function, is the perfect length and is nice & light. Monster does know their cables! Try this out if you can, perfect pairing.
