Give audio gd a pass. It's hyped up on Head-Fi, parts are quality, but they're just not that great sounding.

Grado pads are, by and large, a matter of personal preference. Test some out, and use whatever you like best in terms of comfort/sound presentation. Personally I put flats on everything. That's just what sounds best to me.

No, nothing like that. It was plugged directly into one of the desktop PC's USB port on the motherboard. Stock cable, stock PSU. Tried plugging in a few other devices after the DAC, all seem to be working without any issue.
