What's the diff between using wood or aluminium? as in  http://jaben.net/forums/index.php?topic=12726.0 (wood)  and http://jaben.net/forums/index.php?topic=14663.0 (metal)   would the sound sig perhaps change?

is it really that much better to use a lod with 3.5mm out than to use lod + 3.5mm to 3.5mm? i was told by the shop keeper such.... but doubt the significance of the improvement
