The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Just ordered two LT1028's. Those are single channel, right? So I need a single-to-dual adapter from cimmarontechnology. Has anyone tried NE5532? TI recommends NE5534 to I/V in PCM1792A datasheet.- Bizarro

STX Op Amp Combo Suggestions
2 x LME49720HA + 1 x LT1364 had a laid back sound, compared to: 2 x LME49720HA + 1 x OPA2107AP which is livelier and defined. There is just a right amount of bass and treble is crisp (in a good way). I would love to get my hands on 2107SM.- Bizarro

Xonar Essense STX difference in sound lineout compared to headphone out.
My friend did the mod and replaced the caps with staples. The new staples sound great ;D But seriously, the sound definitely improved. Bass is tighter and easier to follow. Sound is also more revealing. Altogether the music from line out sounds now livelier. BTW, I'm using 49720HAs in IV...- Bizarro

Xonar Essense STX difference in sound lineout compared to headphone out.
I did the measuring with my crappy multimeter and got 2-3mV offset for both terminals. The card was powered but not connected to amp. There was no signal transmitted. I connected the V to caps input and the COM to ground (screw that holds the card in place). Did I do it right? :P- Bizarro

Xonar Essense STX difference in sound lineout compared to headphone out.
I'm really learning a lot here. Thank you both for great information and instructions. Still got few more questions. Are the parts I described inside the amp a DC block? Also when I do the measurements what is a acceptable amount for DC offset? Can the offset change if I change a opamp?- Bizarro

Xonar Essense STX difference in sound lineout compared to headphone out.
Thanks for the reply robscix. I opened the amp and there was a two resistors parallel right after every input and a cap in series after those. NAD website tells that: "Input impedance (R and C): (50kOhm / 100pF)" and "Input sensitivity ref. 0.5V: 200mV". Am I good to go or should measure the...- Bizarro

Xonar Essense STX difference in sound lineout compared to headphone out.
Hi all and thanks for great advices concerning this card. Now to the point. So I would like to try out this mod but I'm wondering could it damage my amp? I have connected STX line out to my NAD C 315BEE. I would appreciate your opinions. BTW leeperry, in some other thread you were...- Bizarro
