    That is true, sometimes i forget the music and i just concentrate on the sound quality. That is okay, but silly if you always do it. Create a good sounding chain with critical listening then forget the equipment, enjoy the music you love.

    I've got the K501 and K401 and i love them. Definitely the very best purchase i've ever made: 80 USD for K501, and  28 USD for K401 (both from aftermarket). I use the K401 for rock, trip-hop and the K501 for classical, acoustical audiophile records. The old AKG's just rock!

    I have the same experience with K501, the soundstage is totally 3 dimensional and open without being too huge or "far away". The Chesky Records is legend, I like their records but this binaural recording is more enjoyable through headphones.
