WESTONE Um pro50 vs W40
To my ears, closest non-Westone brand that sounds similar is earsonic sm3's. Just picked a pair of um50pros and they remind me of that warm close um3x sound as well, where as w60 reminds me more of my ES5's. Ironic, since um50pros have the same drivers as the ES5.- dragonfyra

WESTONE Um pro50 vs W40
The um3x's mids are a lot closer than w60, so thats why you feel the intimacy and fatigue. But I too have fond memories of the um3x- dragonfyra

iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2.
I've managed to lose my adapter after moving house, should I approach ibasso for a replacement or is it possible to just buy a replacement as long as the voltage matches? Many thanks, guys.- dragonfyra

Does it take a charger with specific level of output? Just took a look at anker, you mean like Anker E3?- dragonfyra

Review: Estron Linum BaX --- New IEM Cable for a New Age
The price and the quality seems great. Would really like to hear SQ comparisons with the other replacement cables! Most of the aftermarket cables nowadays are quite a bit thicker, wondering if these little cables can hold up sound wise. Thanks in advance everyone! -
Colorfly C4 or Ibasso dx100
Can't say I totally agree with some of the above comments, but of course to each their own. Have owned a DX100 and played with my friends C4, and also currently own a CK4 (modded). C4 (which is like a ck4 but much better power) is nice, clear and crisp for the upper frequencies...- dragonfyra

Westone ES5
normal ak100 as opposed to rwa ak100. dynamics was ok, i felt it was a thin, quick, slightly more exciting type of sound. dx100 felt colder in comparison. one thing that some will like but i didn't was the vocals, a bit too close for my taste.- dragonfyra

Westone ES5
As a clip+ and clipzip lover + user... I can't really agree... I've found lots of equipment better than es5 + clip, though that combo is nice. I can also hear a great difference between my clips and anything + o2. Had great experience with dx100 and es5, personally felt it was a great...- dragonfyra

Colorfly CK4 first review
Taobao can be ok if you choose a good seller, make sure they have tonnes of positive feedbacks. Also ask to make sure they will ship it to wherever you are, some only inland to China. Finally, communication may be difficult since most of them only speak Chinese. But it can be every bit as safe...- dragonfyra

Musical attack and IEM,S being slow to attack .
Bassy headphones can sometimes make it seem slower, especially if the bass is not controlled well with amping. Also, it does feel the newest top tier headphones do possess quicker speed (t1, hd800, etc) but again that depends on which headphones. Jh16 vs lcd2 may yield you different results...- dragonfyra

Colorfly CK4 first review
Great thread everyone, lots of great info and discussion. Just picked up a modded ck4, with new battery (double the power capacity), and new caps put in. Came to a total of approx. $216USD (stock ck4 is approx. $150USD here in Hong Kong). Some quick impressions, compared with the...- dragonfyra

Defective T1's?
Same thing happened to me, and I returned the T1 for exchange, this problem's been mentioned by some others head-fiers here too. When there's a strong bass signal, it seems to rattle something inside the T1, it was the right side for me as well. It sounds like as if there's a cable or...- dragonfyra

Girlfriends
My lovely wife of one year bought me a T1 for our first year anniversary (and Christmas) present. She also helped designed the logo that I have on my Westone customs. She's amazing in every other way as well so I know I'm a lucky person. When I hear other head-fier brothers...- dragonfyra

Burson Soloist with HD600?
I think it might be a combo worth looking into. I do not have either on hand right now so please take my advice with a grain of salt, but used to own a pair of HD600 with Cardas (grey), and auditioned the Burson Conductor (it has the soloist for amp section), but with my T1's and not the...- dragonfyra

T1 v. DT880/600, Round 1
the sibilance happens when its' on the music, I used to hate my dt880/600 for the same reasons, but never heard any on well-recorded music or anything 24bit, but tiesto's kaleidescope album totally kicked my butt with all the sibilance and it's much worse with the T1. now compared with...- dragonfyra

Westone ES5
