Just my two pennies worth:  How about a wooden shelf that the turntable sits on bolted to a base board, but the two boards are separated by springs.  Instead of the top board being directly connected to the bolts, they would would have springs from the top of the bolts down to the turntable...

I do hear it too, but frankly I've come to live with it.  It only seems to be drive access noise, so it's pretty minimal.

Best way I find is to connect the Clip+ to the computer when it's turned off, it automatically boots into the ofw.
