I just got a WA22 last week and it pairs really well with the HD800 so far, even with just the stock tubes.  What would be the best first upgrade for it, balanced cables (already balanced to the amp) or tube upgrades?

This is probably a dumb question, but I've been looking at possibly getting the WA2 or WA22, and in terms of the WA22, is it possible use the balanced XLR input with the single ended output?

So do you need to do anything special to use this as a preamp? I'm only asking because I've hooked up my line out to my receiver to run through speakers but I don't get any sound.

So far out of the RCA COMMAND and GE 5 stars I have to say I like the 5 stars better...Can't really put a finger on why, they just seem to sound better to me...I'm also enjoying my new 6H30Pi's too.

Well I recently purchased a few sets of new tubes and will be rolling them sometime next week I think. So far I got 1 pair of GE 5 stars, RCA Command, and Sovtek 6H30Pi Power tubes. There's not really a whole lot about power tubes throughout this thread, but I figured it was worth trying out.

The last two I have only heard from the samples on amazon, but either way should be pretty good.

What would you guys say is the best after market cable...Cardas seems to be the most popular, but there is a few different options.

Ok this may be a really stupid question, but I need it answered since I haven't seen it anywhere... How exactly do you switch the jumpers on and off to roll different tube types? I know all of the tubes that go with jumpers off or jumpers on, I just don't know how to change them.

Well after reading tons of stuff about them (at least 20 pages of just this thread alone)...I finally hit the purchase button over at Amazon. With my LD and 650s arriving next week sometime, it should be a great week!

UGH...I'm so freaking close to hitting the buy button for a pair of these, but I just keep getting caught up in looking to see the comparisons between 650s and other cans around that price range. HD650s have been at the top of my upgrade list, but there's just too many dang choices

I forget how fast this forum moves sometimes... So is the HD580/600/650 probably the best option for this price range then?

Out of that list, I have priced everything out, I just threw the dollar amount in case anyone thought of a different pair than I have looked at. The HD650s have definitely been at the top of my list and it seems like it would be a great match, I just would like any other suggestions as well.
