Hi guys,   Thought I'd post my latest.... I built my 2ch b22 a while ago, but had issues with wiring in the Pot.... all sorted and finally in it's custom hardwood w/ plexiglass top!   hope you like!  

well i haven't been keeping up with this thread but thought i'd throw my 2c in...   i sold my m3 amp and built a 2ch b22 to replace it...   my opinion is that the b22 powers the 600z 880s far better than the m3. Voltage swing indeed appears to be king with these phones..   the 880s...

dude - do some research - Open = leak like a sieve... music gets out and you can hear everything around you, unless u are listening at defening volumes...   your listed phones are all over the shop, so maybe u need to do some reading and refine the list...   generally for someone wanting...

it sounds to me like u know the answer: 650s... its clear you like their sound - maybe a bit too caught up in the moar $$$ = better experience...   i quite liked the lcd-2s at a recent meet, but not paying that kinda dime for it and then hooking it up to a balanced amp etc...   650s will...

sorry bud - but its all been said... the only way you can ensure its legit is by buying from a legit reseller.... Digikey or mouser is the go...   been there done that... fortunately eSeller took em back and refunded, but far more trouble than its worth.   That is one of the reasons why...

to answer the question if you connect your iPod to the desktop amp thru the headphone jack yes: a high gain desktop amp will also amplify the signal noise and essentially exacerbate the poor sounding source.   but with iPod you can sort of bypass the ipod's integrated amp using a LOD - line...

hey xnor,   i'm certainly enjoying my stock m3 on my 600z 880s at the moment, but such is audio diy, i would like to A&B them w/ the b22... cos i can...    the m3 is certainly no slouch employing a 3ch active ground and a top quality component list that you would be hard pressed to...

apparently an iPod has an output of 30mw per channel...    using the formula I = √(Po / 32) will reveal the current draw.. to be 43mA,  given its battery can supply up to 650mA draw, its pretty safe to say its got it covered...   pulled from amb's site "when playing music the average...

... i get what ur saying and caution is great, but these things are as hard as you want them to be...   i agree that a 6ch fully balanced would be a wiring nightmare, but a 2ch is much easier... apart from inputs, jack, and pot what is there to wire over that any other desktop amp wouldn't...

sweet - ur good to go! i'm sure its not so much the sonic aspect that ur after, but the challenge of building another amp - i can relate! i got the bug from amb too!   also consider speaker amps... many of us focus on headphone and have crappy pc speakers for predominantly music! check out...

oh, just read these are for sr-125s..... upgrade ur headphones! the mini^3 is already doing a great job w/ them... a beta 22 wont make the 125s sound like MSpros...

cool, i'm all for it! i'm assuming you did the mini^3.... now i haven't built a beta22, but i really don't see how its much harder than a m3 or mini3... sure it has a higher component count, but big deal.... no smd to deal w/ cf m3 (if you go ad8610 and other soic designs) or mini or gamma...
