Upgrading from MS-1/HD-25
Hi guys, I'm looking for a new pair of cans as a step up from my ms1s/hd25s. I was considering the esw9, partially cos of its looks but I can't decide for myself whether it would be worth it. I listen to mainly rock and metal, and other headphones that I was considering would be the D2000. My...- fuild

Headphones from Japan
I see. I think that's another problem I face. From what I've read so far, it seems that many people have had problems mating the W5000 to a suitable amp. Is it true that my best bet would be to use the HA5000? I've been wanting to get a higher-end headphone, something in the range of K701...- fuild

Headphones from Japan
Hi guys, I'm currently using MS-1s and HD-25s for home use, and ER-4Ps on the go. I'm considering AT/denon woodies at the moment, more for the aesthetics than anything else cos I kinda like the look. So right now i'm considering W1000, W5000 and D5000. From what I've read and understood so...- fuild

Classical headphones for my grandfather ~ £75 budget
I do agree that the MS-1s sound very good for $99, other than their lack of soundstage. I have a pair and I love it. I was just wondering, since the OP's grandfather has been using speakers up till now, the lack of soundstage might be too disconcerting. But they have been pretty uncomfortable...- fuild

Classical headphones for my grandfather ~ £75 budget
Hmm. MS-1s have a pretty narrow soundstage, so they might not be that suitable for classical music. Most people find MS-1s to be rather uncomfortable too, as with most of the grado line. MS-1s can be found here: http://www.alessandro-products.com/headphones.html They're the black ones. What...- fuild

High Isolation headphones for playing drums
Actually the "in ear monitor" kind will isolate better than full size headphones. However, full size headphones definitely have better bass than in-ears. Perhaps you could consider a bassy IEM.. super fi 5EB? Edit: Sorry I didn't check out your links. I've no experience with those headphones...- fuild

Closed can to complement ms-1s
Hi all, I'm currently using the MS-1s but I would like to get another pair of closed headphones. I would say that I'm satisfied with what I'm getting out of the MS-1s but I'm curious about what else the rest of the cans have to offer. They would also have to isolate decently because I might use...- fuild
