I need recommendations for a friend.
He can't spend more than $50. He wants a pair of in-ears for use with his iPod, un-amped. He mostly listens to hip-hop, so good bass would be nice. Thanks in advance.- ThePope3290

Can someone link me to some equipment that will help with my problem?
I have a PS3, and I want to be able to use my headphones for gaming. The problem is, my HDTV doesn't have a headphone port. All I have are my headphones, so I don't have any amps or anything. So can you guys help me out and tell me everything I need to make this happen? Links to specific...- ThePope3290

What is the best program for playing CDs?
I have foobar which is great for my FLAC downloads but when I want to play an actual CD, I don't like foobar because it doesn't acquire track names. Is there a way to get foobar to acquire track names or should I download another program?- ThePope3290

Is the M-Audio Studiophile Q40 known to have a lot of sibilance?
I've noticed it a lot lately. It didn't seem bad at all with my iPod, but I've started to put the actual CD's in my laptop for listening...and the "s"'s are so harsh. Is it the headphones? Or the laptop? Or the extra volume the laptop puts out? Or maybe the cheap $8 RadioShack cable I'm using?- ThePope3290

I can barely listen to my iPod Classic anymore.
I listened to a 320kbps rip of a CD on my laptop, then listened to it on my Classic, and it sounds much flatter, quieter, and not as impactful. Is there a way to mod my Classic to make it sound more like my stock laptop (which I'm happy with without sound card)? I was looking into the FiiO...- ThePope3290

What is the default ripping bitrate when first using iTunes?
MP3 128kbps maybe? Because I remember using the default for so long because I knew nothing about high-end audio...but a year or so ago I switched to AAC 256kbps. I also converted all of my defaults to AAC 256kbps. Was that just a waste of space? Did they stay at the default quality but just grew...- ThePope3290

What causes this?
My setup: iPod Classic, M-Audio Studiophile Q40, cheap Radioshack cable My problem: I noticed recently that during drops of silence in songs, like right after a drum beat, there is a kind of echoing sound, almost a barely audible drummy/clappy sound. It's kind of hard to explain. I don't quite...- ThePope3290

Why did everyone on here make it sound like I NEEDED a threaded cable for my Q40's?
My stock cable went out, and I've been sitting around waiting for M-Audio to e-mail me back. I assumed I NEEDED a threaded cable since that's what the Q40 cable is, but my dad went to Radioshack today and got a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable for under $10 and it works fine. It fits into the Q40's...- ThePope3290

EXTREMELY worried about my Q40's...:(
Out of nowhere I plug them into my iPod and turn it on and only the left speaker works. I then turn my head and the right one comes back in. It cuts in and out as I turn my head, even slightly. I paused my iPod and I can hear static in the right driver which changes volume as I turn my...- ThePope3290

Why can I tell no difference between AAC 256kbps and Lossless?
Let alone 256 and 320. Is it because my current set-up doesn't allow ALAC to be reproduced correctly? I just have an iPod Classic and M-Audio Studiophile Q40's by the way. Would an amp allow me to tell a difference?- ThePope3290

I'm sure this is normal for a laptop/iPod
Even though my laptop is all stock, when listening to music on iTunes it has more volume and everything sounds more clear and it makes my Q40's rumble. Then when I switch to my iPod it's noticeably quieter and not as clear...not saying it sounds bad but it could use improvement. I'm sure this is...- ThePope3290

I want the absolute best SQ I can get from my M-Audio Q40's and iPod Classic
All of my music is on CD. What should I use to rip my CD's onto my computer to put on my iPod? So far I've been using iTunes to rip at AAC 256kbps. I know about Lossless, but that's just too much space. So is 256/320 the best I'm gonna get, or is there a different program I should be ripping...- ThePope3290
