Help With New Cans
Maybe he needs closed cans? If going for open, I was going to suggest the HD598, perfect sound for what OP needs.- zmd

Help With New Cans
Quote: Yeah.. Sennheiser is what you want. I just recently got the K550 and they are unlike any Sennheiser can I've ever heard (including the HD25!), much sharper and unforgiving. Great cans, great bass, but they will not soothe your ears unless you pipe soothing music through them. Haven't...- zmd

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
Hello gents, I've been eyeing the K550 for a couple of months now. I'm currently rocking a pair of modded Sennheiser HD558s plugged into a fresh Fiio E10 and I'd like a bit of an upgrade. I've heard a pair of LCD-2 recently but I'm not quite ready to sell kidneys for a pair of headphones (yet...- zmd

Headphones for ROCK and Old School Metal
Sennheiser HD25 for all your rock and metal needs (maybe except Pink Floyd, but hey.. sounds good enough too). Infinitely more versatile than a Grado, with high detail and immensely engaging sound. You should be able to find a pair for around 150 euros.- zmd

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
@DEZ: I dumped my HD25s for a pair of Meelec CC51s and I'm still not regretting it, and I loved the Sennheisers. Great bass, lively highs and crunchy but a bit distant midrange. Clear and very engaging sound, in short. They're about $50 so you don't really have much to lose by trying them. ...- zmd

extreme treble roll off on A151
Hey, I've been playing around with the tips on my A151s, after initially being very underwhelmed by the sound, and noticed that the biflange tips fix the treble, making it present and clear, yet still sweet. Also, excessive warmth is gone, making the whole range sound better and cleaner. Anyway...- zmd

build quality issues with the cc51's?
Five pairs, huh? That's.. supernaturally unfortunate, at best. I have a pair of A151s incoming, incidentally. I fully expect them to sound different, but not bad, compared to the CC51. Maybe even better in some places. Anywho, sorry for the derail.- zmd

build quality issues with the cc51's?
My CC51s are two months old now, no build issues here. They used plenty of glue on mine, apparently.- zmd

Sennheiser HD598 for Christmas...not impressed yet.
I can only agree with previous posts. I have a modded HD558 and a modded SR80i and like them both. Comming from the Grado, the Sennheiser seem a bit slow, dark and dull but after some time, you'll tune in to their sound and appreciate them much more. IMO they are technically better, with a more...- zmd

MEElectronics Thread!!!
I got the CC51 to be an occasional stand-in for my Sennheiser HD25s and after a couple of weeks (today, that is) I've decided to put the Senns up for sale. So yeah, count me in as a MEElec fan. I love the sound of these puppies, with a bit of midrange boost, of course. I just love the look, so...- zmd

Inexpensive mod gives nice quality increase for at-home critical listening
I thought this was about getting a haircut to improve headphone fit (again..). A small pillow that won't touch the headphones helps, indeed, with bigger pairs.- zmd
