    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

Yes, I have a small head and I did have problems. Nothing an elastic bad couldn't fix though! The raised (i.e. normal for most people) position on my head improved the sound too. I also agree that these sound better than Sennys (HD600 in my case) for the vast majority of stuff.

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

@CoiL It 's using the 6N3P & 6N13C tubes. Recently it's been going a bit dodgy, cutting out in one ear and crackling when I change volume. Don't know what's going on there.   I'll have to try both amps in series "hybrid amp" style to combine the colouration of the tubes and the low impedance...

    [New] Philips Fidelio X1

To the all the people who say the X1's don't need amping, I say CODSWALLOP!   After not listening to my X1's for a number of months in favour of my m-100's, the other day I decided to give them one more listen to redeem themselves. Ew. No. Still didn't like them. It's difficult for me to put...

    Unofficial V-MODA XL Pads thread.

I personally find the difference night and day. With the Xl pads the bass becomes too harsh, while everything else seems laid back and boring. It can't just be me who thinks it sounds better squished closer to the ears?

    Unofficial V-MODA XL Pads thread.

Has anyone got any idea how I could squish th XL pads to make them sound more like the stocks? I much preferred their sound but can't deal with their uncomfort (even with tissue shoved behind).

I've attached some folded tissue paper to the bottom of the headband of mine to raise it up a bit, which combined with the XL pads have made mine very comfortable. I'm wearing sunglasses under them right now without any trouble. I have gently bent the headband in the past though - just by...

You don't even need to do that; briefly bend the headband into a straight line and back and repeat until it feels right. I've stuffed bits of tissue paper behind the pads of mine to improve the comfort without significantly changing the sound like the XL pads do. They make the bass too loose and...

How does the La Ferrari compare to a Fiat Panda with a crap ton of advertisements and a one million pound price tag slapped on?

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

This thread is making me highly appreciative that taking a physics degree means I only have to deal with smart people! I forgot how dumb many people are!

Hmm OK, good to know.   Man I'm glad I went for these over the HP50! They make (electronic) music so enjoyable.

Thanks! I guessed as much. It's a good idea to swap ends, but unfortunately has resulted in it only playing through one ear!

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Hello fellow m-100 lovers! I'm a brand new owner and am very happy with the sound. I was worried the bass would be too bloated but it isn't at all. The comfort is hideous though and I can't wait for the XL pads to arrive.   I've noticed a large difference between the 2 bundled cables, is that...

I have a Fidelio X1 & OTL tube amp (from MBP)... how do I proceed?

Nah, as long as you don't use them as loudspeakers! They won't have much electrical damping and will be accentuated around upper bass where there is a hump in impedance, along with the normal colouration of the amp.

I have a Fidelio X1 & OTL tube amp (from MBP)... how do I proceed?

Yeah, I keep toying with the idea of getting a DT770 or 990 but every time I visit the beyer comparison thread it puts me off with the talk of nonexistent mids. I'm sure a tube amp would improve that but the bigger issue is that I still don't really know what sound sig I like. I don't know how...

Suggest over-ear headphones under 100 pounds

I strongly recommend the Creative Aurvana Lives. They're only £50 and sound great playing electronic music.
