Yes, I have a small head and I did have problems. Nothing an elastic bad couldn't fix though! The raised (i.e. normal for most people) position on my head improved the sound too. I also agree that these sound better than Sennys (HD600 in my case) for the vast majority of stuff.

@CoiL It 's using the 6N3P & 6N13C tubes. Recently it's been going a bit dodgy, cutting out in one ear and crackling when I change volume. Don't know what's going on there.   I'll have to try both amps in series "hybrid amp" style to combine the colouration of the tubes and the low impedance...

I personally find the difference night and day. With the Xl pads the bass becomes too harsh, while everything else seems laid back and boring. It can't just be me who thinks it sounds better squished closer to the ears?

Has anyone got any idea how I could squish th XL pads to make them sound more like the stocks? I much preferred their sound but can't deal with their uncomfort (even with tissue shoved behind).

Nah, as long as you don't use them as loudspeakers! They won't have much electrical damping and will be accentuated around upper bass where there is a hump in impedance, along with the normal colouration of the amp.

I strongly recommend the Creative Aurvana Lives. They're only £50 and sound great playing electronic music.

The X2 will be nice for watching films, but for you might find the bass roll off a bit of a bummer for music.

Yes it came with this can which just loosely plonks over it. The humming is quieter without it but then the output noise is louder
