    Westone W80

Actually neither of you are correct. Westone when out of warranty will repair or replace your headphones for cheap. In my case my westone 3 broke as the shell fell apart when no damage had been done to the headphone- they offered replacement of my choice. They provided me the option of selecting...

    Westone W80

I was only talking about the feel out of the box before use.   Honestly they don't like the presentation out of the box or try to knock it. But, it seems like it would last.   Should items fail westone warranty works great and post warranty replace items are cheap. They continue to offer...

    Westone W80

The W60 is a huge upgrade from the 4r itself. I have owned the W3, W4r, W60. The W4r is decent but disappointing. It works and it capable but lacking. Both W3 and W60 are upgrades from it in my opinion. The W60 is a beast with performance unmatched by cheaper headphones for sure- the detail in...

    Westone W60 vs Shure SE846?

Not at all accurate. I'm a picky consumer.. The W60 build quality is perfectly high quality. The size is smaller and they fit in your ears better and more comfortably. The SE846 are extremely large and hang out of the ear more..   They make both out of plastic. The Shure have some fancier...

    Westone W60 vs Shure SE846?

If you go by the hype of Shure SE846- you would think they were actually better. They aren't. Its obviously paid product placement and commission/promotional interests at work.   I have used a lot of headphones over the years from Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro, Shure SE530, Westone 3/4r, and...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Thanks for clarifying that. It would seem then that the E5 does not have SBX 3D surround, meaning it is stereo mix with some added reverb and spacial effects at best. Sad to see because i was looking for a reason to keep this thing, hardware mixed surround for headphone sounded cool. I was...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Thanks for stepping up Rony. Um, got a Q, this is something I haven't tested yet, but I intend to. Can you confirm, as someone said a page back, is this stereo device the SB E5, is it taking the 5.1 or 7.1 or the individual streams in game, and is it doing the full SBX 3D surround effect...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Yeah i totally think they had an array of mics recording that, then they mixed it down to stereo for headphones to demo the effect of SBX 3D surround.. When you listen you are getting the equivolent output of SBX as it outputs to your headphones after mixing it in hardware.

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

Binaural recording? What do you think virtual surround sound through headphones is? It is playing with your brain and ears listening ability to enable you to have a sense of direction through headphone stereo source. When I listened, it worked, I could tell when the sound was meant to sound...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

For the OTG issue google "micro usb to micro usb otg" there is only one or two shops selling a micro to micro otg. This bad boy lets you connect the phone to the micro usb on the e5 with minimal cable. Not a bad device as you say, could be better, more purist like..

Also i had a moment of extreme underwealmed ness when the volume was really low. Turns out android and the E5 have separate volume switches when hooked up to Galaxy S4. Didn't notice that at first. I am gunna do some heavy comparison. I know the FiiO e18 had a unique sound, it made it...

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.

I think my ears were ****ed up last night when I first listened. I did a recomparison. I tested my Galaxy S4, neurton app, all EQ off, I compared phone output then hooked up the dac. Turns out the E5 didn't bomb as much as I thought, as both sounded at least the same.

SBX actually is a hardware processing system developed by Creative Labs. It has a virtual surround mode - it may be as limited as a home theater DSP, or as powerful as what Creative Labs says on YouTube (SBX 3D surround mode is awesome, fully 3D, from stereo headphones). A cystalizer which I...

make my own cable for first time for Sennheisers HD 650, any guides?

So I love to do stuff myself. I like to sit and perfect my technique. This will be my first time constructing my own cable tho. So I just bought myself some Sennheiser HD 650, I want to make a pure silver cable or silver with gold plating. I am aiming to buy as nice of stuff as possible, $0-$30...
