How about over the HE-500s? Those are the ones I'm looking at, and $300 less.

Is this because of the mediocre DAC in the LG G3, or because I don't have an amp, or do I just not like the sound signature of the W40s? I'm still pretty new to all this, the only headphones I've used, other than these, are ATH-M50s. Considering selling these to purchase a different pair.

Oh, I think I should also add that I did consider the Grados, but changed my mind on them. They had A LOT of sound leakage. This is an issue to me.
