eXStatA Build Thread II
I have some extra quads in case anyone needs them. I have a few quads in the 10s and 11s and a decent quad in the 14s. The Exstata is alive and is making sweet sound. I can't listen to it for too long yet, as I'm still having trouble with DC-offset and Bias settings. I used a 12.0, 12.3...- ting.mike

eXStatA Build Thread II
Sorry been busy these two days. Here it is: I also need to add that I'm using a 1000V version for the C5 and C7 (couldn't get the 630V version). One diode and one resistor are soldered under the board since there is no space left.- ting.mike

eXStatA Build Thread II
Thanks, Alex. I measured at the testpoints, exactly as instructed on the website: Bias Supplies Bias voltages are measured at the testpoints NOT at the terminals on the block. Turn on the PS. Measure from either test point to ground. The instant you touch the DMM to the testpoint is...- ting.mike

eXStatA Build Thread II
Quote: Alex, can you help me out on this issue? Looking at the schematic of the PSU, the input from the travo is 250-0-250, then after going through the two diodes, is it possible to get the voltage to be higher than 500V on the high bias terminal? If instead I use a...- ting.mike

eXStatA Build Thread II
Hi, I've assembled the PSU completely using the parts from the BOM. In initial check up, everything measures up correctly to the values that are specified on the Cavalli website. The only issue I have is setting the bias voltage. The bias voltage maxes at around 535V, and it won't go any...- ting.mike

Why is Stax SR-001/003 called Baby Omega?

HD800 and Stax Lambda Pro etc comparison?
Hope I can share some information on this subject.. I currently have the SR-404LE, 404Sig, Sr-Lambda Pro, on loan. The amplifier is a Headamp KGSS. The SR-404LE is a very fine rig, and I have to agree that it's the best Lambda headphone so far, but it does have its limitations. Timbre...- ting.mike
