Are the pistons the king of the budget?

I don't know how good the e10s sound like, but Pistons are the best sounding $25 earphones I've heard, not to mention the build quality with metal housing and sleeved cables. Others at similar price that you find at your local electronics store are several leagues behind.

    UrBeats for $38

It seems that the bass is almost off the chart high, I would say there are still better choices at that price range. Many Beats are overpriced by 5-10 fold their value anyway, so don't take their asking price as representation of the worth.

I have $300 for a new pair of headphones with style and bass

Oh I can tell you that I hate anemic sound, I dislike 'phones without bass, so I'm pretty much a basshead. Even that, the models I tried sounded bad.   People have reasons to bash Beats.

I have $300 for a new pair of headphones with style and bass

I tried Solo on a Cowon J3, since I had access to the 3.5mm jack. How to describe the sound? Overly emphasized bass, and it's not even good, muddy and slow, everything else sounded distant, drowned in the quagmire of slow sticky bass. In a way, $30 'phones are better.

I have $300 for a new pair of headphones with style and bass

I heard those beats at best buy, they are formidable opponents to these headphones in the $30 range. Felt bit flimsy to be used as a necklace.

A pair of iem for edm and fast paced music

I am no veteran neither but I have first hand experience with Sony XBA-H1, the bass is powerful thank to the dynamic driver, coupled with the BA driver the clarity is good, but the bass is somewhat overpowering the treble and there is a roll off above ~15khz, great for bassheads.   I also own...

Sony XBA-H1 and XBA-H3 Hybrid Dynamic and BA IEM

So, are the XBA-H3s an upgrade or sidegrade to XBA-4/40?

Really not impressed with my recent Shure 425 purchase?

Sony got some more affordable multi-BA earphones, XBA-4/XBA-40 can be found for pretty low prices nowadays, they have some nice bass, and no roll off at the trebles.

    Sony XBA-H1 Pictures and Impressions!

I thought I was a big time basshead with all the electronic music I listen to, but wow, H1 is light on bass? The first thing that overwhelmed my eardrums from the H1 is the booming bass... I can't imagine you trying on a single balanced armature earphones lol...

Sony XBA-4 : modification lead me to heaven

So what's the downside of removing the foam? Does it make the earphones susceptible to small objects/dust?   If it's glued, that means the reverse process won't be as good, and possibly reinserting the foam too far in.

Xiaomi Pistons iF Commemorative Edition Quick Review

For the price under $30 and full metal construction, the quality is on par if not, better than pretty much any earphones at this price point.

Review by 'Supercritical' on item 'COWON J3 32 GB Portable Media Player (Black)'

For most people, Cowon J3 is pretty much the ultimate 'non-audiophile' music player for its sound quality, battery life, and expandable storage (I've heard of 64gb micro sd cards working on it, I haven't tried myself yet).   After having many Creative hard disk based DAPs(Jukebox, Zen touch...

Review by 'Supercritical' on item 'Sony XBA-C10IP Balanced Armature In-Earphone - White'

I was someone who listen to a lot of electronic music, and tried many sub $50/100 earphones that are mostly bass heavy like CX300, EP630, Klipsch S4 etc, I was satisfied with their better than stock earbud sound. One day I saw that one on sale and gave it a chance, since I've heard of BA having...
