Monitors and connectivity questions
thanks for the input! However, the fostex only has RCA out, which would require a conversion to get to the speakers listed. Currently, the most tempting option is to skip a DI box entirely, since it seems that the two most valuable parts of it are A) Balance the signal so it can transmit...- Sonichaos

Monitors and connectivity questions
I'm looking to buy some speakers that will be used for Music/Movies/Gaming at about 80/15/5. I've done a lot of looking and so far I think my top two options are JBL LSR305 and Behringer B3030a, with the latter representing the upper end of my price range. My first question is simply...- Sonichaos

Review: Hifiman RE-400 "Waterline" – The Next Step!
thanks for the tip! I ended up just inserting the headphones sideways, if that makes sense. In any case, I think I'll stick to the mid-size ones. With these in, I can easily imagine myself forgetting that I'm wearing these.- Sonichaos

Review: Hifiman RE-400 "Waterline" – The Next Step!
hey, great review! I just received my pair today, and so far, things are going well, though I'm having some fit issues (though I always do, maybe my ears are just abnormal). Also, under "design and build quality" you say the shirtclip is "noy included" when it should be "now included". Also, you...- Sonichaos

Comply Foam Tips for RE-400 Waterline
I know what the website says, but a company's opinion of its own products just might be a bit biased :P -
Comply Foam Tips for RE-400 Waterline
Does anyone have any experience with different versions of Comply tips? Is there any real difference between "Isolation" and "Isolation Plus"? -
Comply Foam Tips for RE-400 Waterline
From my googling, I found this: http://www.complyfoam.com/re-400-waterline/ I was wondering if there are real differences between these tips? Do these offer a large improvement over the given tips for the RE-400s?- Sonichaos

Westone comparisons: 3 vs um3x vs 4
I've looked at that in depth, but however insightful it may be, it's still just one impression. I was hoping others could share their experiences.- Sonichaos

Westone comparisons: 3 vs um3x vs 4
I've been looking at these three headphones in particular and I have a few questions about how they compare. For starters, I currently do not own any portable headphones. Also, the cans I do own (AKG K240s) do not isolate at all. Where I am now, I would much rather listen to music than my...- Sonichaos

How to add a subwoofer to a 2.0 system
Ah, I was just thinking about a speaker only system, hence confusion. Anyway, thanks for your help. -
How to add a subwoofer to a 2.0 system
I still don't fully understand where the amp fits in. It looks like Modi -> A5+ -> Sub. Also, Modi -> Amp, but it doesn't make sense that an amp would be an end point? Also, if I just... -
How to add a subwoofer to a 2.0 system
@Shaffer So, if the modi goes into the AEs, and the AEs have a line out going to the sub, where does your amp fit in? @GaryWA Thanks for your input, but the purpose of this thread was more to understand how a hypothetical system would work. I just gave those speakers as examples. I think I'd... -
I just want the best IEM!
Are customs on the table? If so, +1 to the 1964 V3s. They sound like what you want: mildly forward mids with good but not overpowering bass. Otherwise the most common universal choices in the range are TF10s, IE8s, and the (now discounted) Westone 3s.- Sonichaos
