Placing Mac Mini on amp, problems?
I don't think you'd run into any problems if the amp still had adequate cooling. My Mac Mini sits on top of another component and I've never had heat issues.- Sheldon N

Best High End distributed music system
If you're going to be running multiple systems around the house, have you considered running a wireless network with a central server? You could have something like a Mac Mini at each individual system, but house all the music/video on a larger computer elsewhere. That's how I do it for my...- Sheldon N

What dac should i buy?
Congrats on the new purchase, the Stella looks like a great choice. I was going to add a +1 for the DacMagic, but looks like I'm a little late to the party. :)- Sheldon N

Does this product exist? Solid-State DAC + Tube Preamp + Headphone Amp
I think the Peachtree Audio Nova 125 and Decco 65 both fit the bill, but they also have amplifier sections too for running external speakers.- Sheldon N

Yes, mine was an OfficeMax purchase about 8 years ago as well. It's really nice and functional, but not exactly the best build quality.- Sheldon N

Has anyone heard the new/improved version? I've got a pair of the NE-7M's that are still going strong, just wondering if it would be worth an upgrade.- Sheldon N

I really, really like both items. I'm upgrading from a Beresford/Virtue Audio/Usher S-520 setup that I really liked and used for several years for desktop music. The Wadia 151 was a nice improvement, the Ushers really sang with it. The Dyn's throw up an amazing soundstage though, and really...- Sheldon N

DIY Acoustic Panels
Just finished building some acoustic sound absorbing panels for my desktop speakers, so thought I'd share some pictures. Panels were constructed from 1x2 strips and 1/8 flexible hardboard. Absorbing material is cotton fiber insulation (no itch, no outgassing), wrapped/stapled with fabric. ...- Sheldon N

Mac Mini advice
There's a whole lot of savings to be had if you install the SSD yourself instead of buying from Apple. Their component prices are far too high.- Sheldon N
