I recently started listening to this: The Congos - Heart of the Congos Produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry who has been mentioned earlier in the thread. Highly recommended. -
Difference in MP3 player sound quality?
I haven't done a side by side test, but I'm pretty sure my Dell DJ sounds better than an iPod with Senn PX200s. So chalk up another one for "Player A" sounds better than "Player B." -

markl, How do you know the list is narrowly-focused if you've only heard of 40% of the artists? Not that Pitchfork has a perfect list here (Rapture number one, uhh...), but perhaps you could provide a link to a list that provides what you feel is a more balanced view of the year's best music. -
