bought these off amazon to get a cheap intro into the etymotic sound/see if i might want to spring for a higher end version.    i've got a few "bang for the buck" portables (mh1c's, mee m6s, ksc75s) along with the takstar pro80s, and i'm pretty impressed with these. solid build, terrific...

thanks guys. as far as sound preference goes, I think I probably prefer a bit more of a v curve, but I honestly haven't heard many quality headphones. the pro80s and ksc75 arent particularly bassy phones from what i can tell but ive been happy with them. i listen primarily to R&B, rock, hip hop...

any suggestions for good value sub-$300 cans that sound good unamped?   my priorities are:   1) sound - think i lean towards details/"fun" sound, don't like overly-analytical 2) comfort/not too heavy 3) sound stage   from what i can tell, the senn 598s fit these, but i'm not...

zest  - i noticed you have an hd580. how do the 2050s compare to the hd580s? i'm looking to get some quality open cans - wondering if i should get something good value on the low end or spring for something like the hd600 or he400. 

how do these compare to the m50s in terms of value/SQ for a portable headphone? i'm trying to find the best value portable in the ~$150 range

i've had the pro80s for about three weeks - definitely liking them more and more. i have little to go by but definitely a step up from the ksc75s that i was using previously.   getting into dangerous territory here, but what would be an upgrade from these? are people really saying they like...
