I haven't gotten them yet, life threw me a curve ball and gotta do some expensive repairs to the house....as in 2 furnaces and garage structural repairing. Probably can't get them for several more months.

Is RCA outputs line level? I ask this because I don't want to accidentally double amp when connecting from RCA outputs to active speakers.

Right now I have my Foobar2000 Volume at 100%, Dac volume at around 40% and the active speaker volume at like 20%,  is this the wrong way to approach this? what should be maxed out and what shouldn't?

I've decided to go with the Ether, the part where a lot of people said "musical" "airy" and or "fun" to listen to intrigued me, I use to own a etymotic er4p and they were so clinical and boring, it really turned me off from super accurate flat response headphones, hence I'm preferring musicality...

I guess if worst comes to worst, I can always buy either or, and if I don't like it, sell it and get the other to try out. At least that way I can cover all the bases and know what they both sound like.

You have a point there, getting the Ethers will probably save me a bit of money, I wonder if going from stats to planars would be considered a downgrade from the more headphone experienced people here.

Yes, I  have an amp and dac, an audio gd compass dac/amp combo, a schiit modi 2 uber dac, and a stax srm-252s driver unit (I understand this driver unit will not cut it for the SR-007A, I will be getting a more powerful one sometime down the road IF I get this instead of the MrSpeaker Ethers...
