Could a modded T50rp best an HD650 (or come close to an LCD-2)?

Quote:   Well I did not and I am not going to. I am not going to try to improve the sound that I ALREADY LIKE as it is and destroy it or make them imbalanced. Just take a look at this: http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/FostexT50RPDIYModifiedTeejaay.pdf   OMG! I am too much of...

Could a modded T50rp best an HD650 (or come close to an LCD-2)?

Quote:   Why I always have to see this disclaimer in each thread about T50RP? So just applying some clay and damping material bring them from nothing to LCD-2 level? Give me the break. I have been enjoying Fostex for last week and I am not going to change one thing on them and destroy...

    JVC HA-FX40 vs Panasonic RP-HJE355

Quote:   Absolutely agree.   Two days ago I got both FX40 and HJE355, and for my music (rock, metal) HJE355 is so much better. While FX40 are clean and detailed, they cannot compare to HJE355 in the mids. FX40 have V shape frequency response while HJE355 has nice bass, full mids...

    The JVC HA-S500 thread.

Quote:   That sound great then, I will definitely get the pair once they hit the States.  Also, I could be wrong, but I think S650 actually have  carbon fiber drives which made me to think that it will have similar sound to S500( carbon fiber – carbon nanotubes). Anyway thanks for the...

    The JVC HA-S500 thread.

Quote:       Thank you for the extensive review and comparison to S650. I am slightly disappointed since I was expecting S500 to have the same sound signature as S650 but to be more refined (detailed).  They obviously are more detailed but I do not like that mids are inferior to...

Compact Portable Headphone Roundup (16 Phones including PortaPro, PX-100 II, V-Jays, Tracks, K430, and more)

Quote: I totally agree with you on all those observations, I would not be able to describe them better using the one  single word for each set.   Koss are really the most lively headphones among the small on-ear headphones, and PX100-ii indeed have the most sophisticated (detailed)...

Compact Portable Headphone Roundup (16 Phones including PortaPro, PX-100 II, V-Jays, Tracks, K430, and more)

Quote:   Agree. I never heard about them until I read your review. Plus, that ridiculous cheap price really helped; I would not even give them chance if I was not able to get them for such a low price.           That sucks! I was hoping that Eskuche 33i will be another...

Compact Portable Headphone Roundup (16 Phones including PortaPro, PX-100 II, V-Jays, Tracks, K430, and more)

Cannot wait for a new roundup. Also, thanks for the tip on Eskuche Kassette way back, after listening to the first pair I ordered the second one right away. For $8.5 they are steal, and  in someways even better than Porta Pro or PX 100-ii.

    The JVC HA-S500 thread.

Does any of you have JVC  HA-S650? From many impressions in this thread it seems that S500 sounds very similar to S650, which is a good thing.

    Sennheiser 598s or Grados?

As always it really depends on ones preference. I only listen to Metal and I could not stand Grado 80i. Too annoying in treble region, congested mids , bass shy, and old sounding in general(low resolution). HD598 is not ideal solution for metal either but everything is better than Grado…IMO...

    AKG Q701: Are these authentic?

Save yourself from headache of sending them back. I ordered two pairs this summer directly from Amazon and they looked exactly the same, dirty cables and all. If you like the sound quality just keep them.

    Worst headphones you've ever bought

Worst headphones I have ever bought? That's easy - Parts Express headphones.  But then again I never actually used them; just used their headband for KSC75 :)
