Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
Works very good with T1 first and second edition, i have testet both. The RHNP is at this price tag a excellent amp and in my opinion a perfect match with all dynamic headphones from 20 to 600 Ohm. For Planars i think they are better amps with more power.- nemomec

The Stax Thread III
Not in my experience the SR-009 has for me a very deep going bass with a perfect structure without any distortion. SR-009 vs SR-009S, the SR-009 is more transparent (transparent means not brighter) as the newer version, the SR-009S is also good but has a modern more dynamic sound signature with...- nemomec

The Stax Thread III
In my experience the standard SR-009 has a deeper soundstage, there are more layers. This results in more air around voices and instruments and you can hear all details of the recording room.- nemomec

The Stax Thread III
Yes i have the same experience and i think the reason are the deeper pads of the SR-009 BK and as result a little bit more "boomy" bass with a small amount of more distortion. Over the time and after some hours burn in and pads subside we will see further.- nemomec

The Stax Thread III
I see the ranking a little bit different after owning most of the above models: 1. Stax SR-009/BK (ultraprecise, scales extrem with better gear) 2. Sennheiser HE-90 (for classic music very good for other music sometimes less precise/controlled) 3. Stax SR Omega (same like SR-009 with less...- nemomec

STAX SR-009S new flagship electrostatic earspeakers released (with impressions)
Made also a extensive comparision between the SR-009 and SR-009S and i prefer in the end the older SR-009 with his deeper soundstage and clearer, smoother highs and more balanced midrange. The SR-009S is good with a little bit more upper bass dynamic but have for me a bit too much upper mids...- nemomec

Pioneer's new TOTL Closed Back SE-Monitor 5 headphones
In a german headphone magazine the Pioneer SE Monitor 5 was scored soundwise on the same level like the Pioneer Master 1. It was also actual beside the much more expensive Final Sonorous X the best tested closed headphone. Pioneer SE Monitor 5 score 1.0 (overall 1.1) Pioneer SE Master 1 score...- nemomec

Pioneer's new TOTL Closed Back SE-Monitor 5 headphones
After some days only listening to the SE Monitor 5 i must say this headphone is very involving. Yes the mids are sometimes to prominent and the soundstage depth is to less, but overall this headphone isn´t on any time fatiguing for me. Finally i would say this is for me actual the best closed...- nemomec

Pioneer's new TOTL Closed Back SE-Monitor 5 headphones
Hello, i have now since a week this Pioneer SE Monitor 5 and use this model with the leather pads. The Pioneer has a wide soundstage, very forward mids (sometimes to forwand), glare highs and for a dynamic headphone a good quality bass and a transparent sound. On the downside the upper mids are...- nemomec

The Stax Thread III
Sorry thats not true, i haven´t heard any SR-007 there are more transparent than a SR-009. With a little more Stax experience it´s easy to make following order: Stax SR-009 Stax SR-Omega Stax SR-007 MK1 first series up to SN: 70xxx Stax SR-007 MK1 Stax SR-007 MK2 SN: SZ2-xxxx Stax...- nemomec

Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1
I had now the pleasure to heard a few days a well burned in Pioneer Master 1 headphone and i think the pioneer is a combination between a Fostex TH-600/900 and a Sennheiser HD-800S. Bass from the Fostex models and mids/highs from the Sennheiser HD-800S. The built quality and the comfort are very...- nemomec

Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1
Sorry thats not true, i don´t understand how can be a serios headphone listener can make such statements! I have heard dozen of SR-007 (all versions, moded or unmoded) beside SR-009, finally the SR-009 is more controlled, cleaner and overall the better headphone in every regard! If you have a...- nemomec
