OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

If you have a heat gun you can soften the glue (don't overheat anything) and use a thin spatula to pry it up gently.

It will also output digital, but only in USB device mode, which is compatible with a very small number of external DACs. The Gen. 5.5 is not capable of USB host mode, that capability starts with the Gen.6 Classic which is compatible with a much wider range of DACs.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

It's not UAPP per se that is chug-a-lugging the battery, it is Bluetooth, noise cancelation, and hi-res track sizes that whack the battery.

They will at some point but so far have not. The only things currently working with Max are a direct connection to the iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS desktop apps. Neither their own Connect feature, nor Chromecast is yet compatible, and the API has not been updated.

I don't think they do either, mine is an older (now discontinued) micro USB to Type A female version, as is the version of the DragonTail that I have.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

We don't really differ there, just a different way of saying essentially the same thing I think. I prefer the sound of the Audio-Technica over the DragonTail, and the iFi adapters, but I don't think it is an Earth shaking difference, and further it is impossible for me or anyone to say that...

That adaptor must be OTG compatible or it won't work, and some that are actually described as OTG compatible simply aren't. How do I know? I've tried many of them for just the use case you are describing with an older Samsung Galaxy S7. This one works (but many others that look just like it do...

MQA is upsampling with a leaky minimum phase filter that causes aliasing. All MQA source files are either 44.1, or 48kHz native sample rate. Probably won't matter much very soon, MQA is in administration and unlikely to remain a going concern.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Perhaps OTG or host mode is now just baked into the Type C spec at this point? My CEntrance HIFI M8 v2 also works with a regular Type C cable, however others seems to report issues with the use of certain cables, and some cables even seem to retain the old directionality issue as well where it...

Yes, if you skip the adapter and just get a cable, it must be an OTG cable in order for the tablet to work in USB Host mode, a regular USB cable will not work. That was not the question, he asked if he needed the cable to be an OTG cable if he elects to skip the adapter.

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

Absolutely, and there are some posts that had that parts list going way back, but as you said, seems not to be included much anymore.

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

Read the OP, it was intended as a gallery thread, not a general discussion thread, though it has veered in that direction many times over the years.

Oppo Digital in California confirms, the HA-2SE drivers do in fact work with the original HA-2, and in most cases the drivers should not be necessary if using Windows 10/11.

I had only clicked the U.S. links which are still live. I didn't know the HA-2SE driver is incompatible, I find that odd and wonder why that would be the case.

OPPO Digital still makes the drivers available here. OPPO should be commended for providing support well after these units have ceased production, OPPO did not go bust, they simply exited the home A/V market to concentrate on their core mobile phone business. U.K. site is here.
