Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
I was hoping to open it up and re-do the connections inside but I can't seem to pry it open, a shame. Also on a mostly unrelated note, that dense foam disk that sits around the driver has begun to deteriorate on my pair of TH900s, has anyone else had this and found a replacement part? It looks...- Mattyhew

Has anyone taken a look inside the Y splitter on the stock MK1 cable? Clearly 2 moulded pieces of plastic, but appear to be fused together. Is there anything special in there or is it just splitting the cable into L/R channel?- Mattyhew

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread
Been using the flc8 for a number of years, replacing the cables as needed. I just went from what I think are the flc8s (blue braided) to the standard grey flc8 cables and I'm now finding the treble harsh and the sound a bit hollow and not as warm as before. I don't remember hearing any...- Mattyhew

Thanks, I saw this but was concerned this wasn't the full band, only the pad. Are there any videos of someone doing this replacement? Or descriptions maybe? Might give it a go myself.- Mattyhew

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Does anyone know of a place (pref uk/eu) that offers TH900 repair/refurbishment? Something internal in the headband (feels like a metal strip) has come loose. Cant seem to find the corresponding spare part unfortunately. Also the wire at the Y connector seems loose. All these problems seem...- Mattyhew

Has anyone had problems with the wires becoming lose at the Y split? Mine are now cutting out as I move, has anyone looked under the piece of plastic for what it looks like under there? Easy repair?- Mattyhew

Desktop, didnt mention it as most of the sub £100 are somewhat portable. So a portable one as a desktop solution would work fine :)- Mattyhew

My mate got these as his first decent pair of cans. Any budget (<£100) USB DAC/AMP combo recommendations to get him off the onboard?- Mattyhew

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
But since the cables in the mk1 are already balanced in their wiring does anyone know there is a change in the cable construction or just putting an XLR on one end and detachable connectors on the other. Not that these are bad upgrades as it would have saved me the trouble of...- Mattyhew

I haven't heard a TH900 with a silver cable, but i would agree the TH900s really dont want to be any brighter. If you think the stock cable is too bulky etc i might even suggest re-sheathing the original cable (this seems possible). Just seems a crime to let all that good copper go to waste.- Mattyhew

You dont need to recable the TH900s as the wires are already in place for balanced, just change the connector on the end to a 4-pin XLR. (I assume the same can be done with an RSA connector) Cost me £35 inc postage to get it done, the cable is already great IMO.- Mattyhew

Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon Owners Impressions
Since there has been a lot of talk about Audio-gd's other products like the Master 11 and the Dac-19, Has anyone heard their NFB-1.32/1DAC? Especially with the Liquid Carbon. Seems interesting as its at a similar price point as the DAC-19.- Mattyhew

I'll chuck you a PM anyway, might be worth just trying if nothing else. Waiting for the distributor of the normal pads to get bk to me, maybe they never will.- Mattyhew

Sorry, I was originally looking for replacement stock pads, because i know what im getting with them. Just wanted a quick description of the effects of the lawton pads alone because whenever people talk about them its often in conjunction with other Lawton mods. If anyone is...- Mattyhew
