I need something to connect a CIAudio DAC to a head amp...maybe just a foot if it's flexible enough. While it needs to be cheap it should also be worthy of a new $1000 setup, though I could upgrade it later.

get the most convenient phones of the better ones mentioned here I don't think anything in this price range is really going to blow your socks off, so there's no reason to make huge sacrifices like portability or comfort for small sound improvements...I'd stick with the PXs if I were you...

you don't want to spend too much? A900 then even if you love the A5/700 that'll leave you wondering what the next level sounds like...you're already doing it and you don't even have them in hand...honestly I think it'd turn out to be the cheapest option since they'll keep you pleased longer...

how long does that last? i find many songs sound just incredible the first few times you hear 'em but aweful later... ...but most importantly I also found the opposite. if you listen to certain songs that you'd usually just dismiss and skip over at least a few times, some really grow on...

I was somewhat under the impression that 225s perform great unamped and with cheaper sources but improve less with better amps/sources, while the HDs underperform with cheap amps/sources but shine with better quality stuff. Is it wrong to make the assumption that the 225s aren't worthy of this...
