Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
They are useful in places that are intermittently loud, and when you need to hear what is going on around you. I use them at home and can have a short conversation with those around me with them on, whereas closed BT headphones I have to take them off to talk and listen. They really work well...- jazzman7

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Purchased the Cipher BT cable the day it was announced. Received two days ago, topped off the charge, and have used it through one charge cycle. Comments: 1) Sound is great with iSine 20. Not quite as good as the Cipher V2 (wired) to an iPhone but close enough that I don't go running to...- jazzman7

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Thanks! One of the nice things about HF Player is that one can edit with a finger swipe. Here's an example of an edit on the V2 tuning where the bass boost is toned down. I like the sound of the Audeze LCD planars, so I don't need so much of a bass boost. The HF Player EQ interface removes...- jazzman7

Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Haven't posted in a while (over three years) but have lurked during that time. I recently purchased the iSine 20 during Audeze's refurb sale, and I wanted to give back to the headphone community, especially since Audeze's fine product really benefits from it, so… Want to try out the Cipher...- jazzman7

Bose tells the NFL: Stop wearing other headphones -- like Beats -- at games
I'm curious how much Bose paid, too. Motorola was reported to have paid 40 million during their 13-year run of headset sponsorship, and that was obviously some time ago. On the advertising of the brand on camera: I wonder if Bose gave every person on camera headphones. Then it totally...- jazzman7

Bose tells the NFL: Stop wearing other headphones -- like Beats -- at games
http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/4/6907355/nfl-bose-sponsorship-deal-bans-beats-headphones Interesting that Bose would use their product placement deal with the NFL to tell players and sideline folks what headphones they can use during broadcasts.- jazzman7

Compatible mobile Amps/Dacs for the iPhone 5
It is interesting that you say this -- I have not tested the microStreamer with and without additional battery power, but I suspect that the limits of the iPhone power supply could affect the output stages of a DAC/amp in terms of its amplification performance. It is clearly the case that the...- jazzman7

How To Disassemble Logitech Ultimate Ears 9000 Headphones - Battery change-*
The double-stick tape for the ear cushions is a nice discovery, as is the model of the replacement battery (Sanyo 553436), which looks to be a standard LIon camera battery. I'm sure it will help me when the battery on my unit dies. Nice job!- jazzman7

Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
AFAIK, the HA-1 was never intended to be a media player like their BD players, only a DAC/amp. Source playback comes from somewhere else. I have an Oppo BDP-83 player, and the media interface uses an video-out-based on-screen display. Since the HA-1 has no video out circuitry, putting...- jazzman7

The Fiio X5 Thread
Take a look at this. Page 15 is the Pico Amp and Page 21 (last page) is the Pico Power. The Power does not have the DAC, and the DAC on the Pico Amp is optional (I think Tyll tested the amp only version). http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/AllAmpsJuly2013.pdf- jazzman7

iPhone 5 Equalizer Apps in App Store
I vote for Equalizer by Audioforge, but only if you are willing to tweak its parametric EQ settings for each headphone you own. I keep headphone-specific presets handy. The ability to import and export equalizer settings in the Audioforge app via email is very cool as well. I've emailed...- jazzman7

Grado SR125i or SR80i?
I recently bought the 125i. When I compared it to the 60 and 80i, I found the 125i to sound less grainy than either of its less expensive brethren. I did not look at the 225i because I prefer the Comfy pads, and I did not want to go through the hassle of paying more for the 225i and then...- jazzman7

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
The DIY project in my mind is to forget about pumping high quality sound through the ANC circuit and focus on making the best active isolating earmuffs one could make. The Alpha Dog is a good start because it isolates the high frequencies of the outside world so well -- ANC is only effective at...- jazzman7

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I'm happy to see Tyll's measurements on these. I'm curious which setup this one corresponds to (most likely one disc). I've compared Tyll's frequency response of the Alpha Dog to some other measurements in his database and find that the Alpha Dog's matches that of the pre-fazor LCD-2v2...- jazzman7
