The Sad State Of The So Called Audiophile DAP Market
I'll cheers to that. I couldn't fathom using that player...let alone spending the stupendous amount of requested cash on one.- Gignac

Hisoundaudio Studio V 3rd Anniversary Edition Review
dcfac73, There are a few things to know about using favourites (note the Canadian/British spelling the player uses? That's right...we love our 'U's). Firstly, it's not so easy to do within the player. It takes a good deal of time, and typically it's a good idea to navigate your...- Gignac

The Sad State Of The So Called Audiophile DAP Market
I wasn't saying that having a product that must be initially tinkered with is an ideal to aim for, I was simply stating that this is the way things are with many of these players and I was trying to account for the allegiance it builds in its users. In trying to explain the bonds that this...- Gignac

The Sad State Of The So Called Audiophile DAP Market
Always interesting to see how these threads can pick up overnight. Read through what everyone here was saying - seems like a bit of a cyclical conversation, but yes: this is a niche market, and by the time the developers have done their R&D all the way to final assembly, they are most...- Gignac

Hisoundaudio Studio V 3rd Anniversary Edition Review
I had both as well and let go of my BA. Wish I would have kept it around (particularly as resale value was not really worth selling it for.) Anyhow, they can still be found if you're on the...- Gignac

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Nice solution. I considered this mod as soon as I first heard of it. Seems like a good way to prevent damage to the thin ribbon cable.- Gignac

Harman Research - Do Listeners Agree on What Makes a Headphone Sound Good?
Indeed. If we don't know that there's a world of possibilities out there, we wont bother looking. On top of that, not everyone cares that there's a world of possibilities out there. I was lucky enough to get some early exposure, through my own curiosity and the advancement of the...- Gignac

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
I've yet to become a customer of yours, but I'd probably be interested in this. I've been using some silk sleeved litz a bit recently with some success. I've considered purchasing some cotton sheathing, so this might be a good solution for me. I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you...- Gignac

Skeptico Saloon: An Objectivist Joint
Subbed. So, what happened to the 'cable myth' thread? I just visited and it's all locked up. I guess mentioning Blackb*dy was not a great idea after all (first heard of that product through an add on this site...so...) Anyhow, glad to find this thread - now I'm off to hunt for...- Gignac

Why the cable myth won't go away
Heh - Brilliant! I'll take 6 sets. Glad the pro comes with it's own stand. That would be a cumbersome load on the shoulders.- Gignac

Why the cable myth won't go away
Heh, great story, but I'm a little confused about the ear extenders. Big Shot's explanation doesn't really do much to help Honestly though, is that actually a 'thing'? Doing an image search for them returned nothing promising. I think I just want to see some goofball with a big set...- Gignac

"Please Stop 'Burning In' Your Earphones"
Fair enough. My central point was that yes, there are things about our perception of sound that are not easily measured, but most of these things are also not easily defined (at least in a way where all sides agree on the definition) and, as mentioned here many times, are prone to our own...- Gignac
