2.0 speaker-setup for my PC
Quote: Yeah, I'm mainly leaning towards the Adam's at the moment :) From what I've read the Artist 3 is also suppose to have a bit better mids than the A3X, which is also a plus. Another plus is that the Artist 3 has a built-in DAC. Sure, it might only be 16/48, but almost all my... -
2.0 speaker-setup for my PC
Quote: These seem really nice! Just found another pair of speakers that according to a review are even a bit better than the Emotiva, namely Adam Artist 3/5. The Adam Artist 3 seem like a really nice choice, but I'm wondering wich one is best out of Artist 3 or A3X? -
2.0 speaker-setup for my PC
I'm looking to get a pair of really good sounding speakers for my PC. I've got about €500-600 to spend. I want a pair of well-balanced, neutral speakers with good clarity and lots of details. Well, at least as good as I can get for the money I've mainly been looking at B&W MM-1...- GamerOne

Matrix M-Stage amp review: simple, cheap, and excellent.
Thinking about getting an OPA Moon for my M-stage, but does it even fit in an M-stage? Also, if I'm buying one I'll order it from ampcity.co.uk and they have an "Optional extra" which is "Extension cables for dual OPA (100mm)", what exactly is this for and do I need it?- GamerOne

Which DAC for M-stage + Q701?
Bumping this thread again Still haven't bought any new DAC, but I think I'm going for a Music Streamer II. Though I've begun considering the II+ as well, but is it really worth the extra money? I mean, its about twice as much as the II. Also I've noticed that there's a 2012 edition of the MSII...- GamerOne

Q701 vs D2000
The Essence ST/STX's internal amp can definitely drive the Q701's volume-wise and they sound decent from it, but I do highly recommend a good external amp to drive them properly. I've compared the Essence ST's amp with the M-stage myself and the ST's amp sounds a bit harsh and "dirty" compared...- GamerOne

AKG Q701 Vs. AKG K702 | Comparison & Review
I used to have a pair of K701's that I switched to a pair of Q701's and there's definitely a difference between them. The difference isn't big, but quite immediately noticable. The Q701's have a certain fullness and warmth that the K701's lacked. I found the K701's to be a bit too cold and...- GamerOne

Which DAC for M-stage + Q701?
I'm thinking about switching my Asus Xonar Essence ST for an external DAC. This mainly because I want to be able to connect my headphone-rig to other things than just my PC. I preferably don't want to spend more than around $300. And of course I want it to be at least as good as the DAC on...- GamerOne

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
A lot of Enya's songs sound completely MAGICAL in the Q701's <3 And basically any good live-recording sounds like it really is live <3 I just LOVE my Q701's, and they're not even "burned in" yet -
Q701 impressions thread
Got my Q701's today! Damn they look beautiful in black I've listened to them a bit and already I can tell that they do indeed sound a bit warmer and softer than the K701's. Though I do also experience them to sound a bit muffled compared to the K701's, but I guess they just need some playtime...- GamerOne

Q701 impressions thread
Quote: With "plasticky" I think they mean cold/dry/emotionless/lifeless basically. This is also how I experience the K701's to sound.. Hopefully I'll be getting my Q701's this week though <3- GamerOne

AKG Q701 Vs. AKG K702 | Comparison & Review
Quote: Several people on these forums claim that the Q701's are a bit fuller/warmer sounding than the K701's. I've even read a review which claims the exact same thing. And seeing as there are other changes than purely cosmetical ones on the Q701's(like the foam-piece behind the...- GamerOne

AKG Q701 Vs. AKG K702 | Comparison & Review
Just placed an order for a pair of black Q701's at amazon.co.uk I'm just hoping that I'll notice the difference between them and the K701's. If not, the color and detachable cable are still a plus- GamerOne
