THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
Yep, the original cable had gone all stiff, so they've been re-cabled. I'm also making a new headband but struggling a bit with my sewing skills and getting the pleather to look nice and fit right.- elliot42

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
A Daiso store opened up nearby (Japanese dollar store) and I went to have a look. I found these bag hanger things that work quite well as headphone hangers hanging from my bookshelf.- elliot42

Pain! :D :) :| :/ :( >:(
Nothing spectacular has happened to me, just regular DIY wounds. I've slipped and burned myself with soldering irons many times and sliced up my fingers and thumbs with a scalpel a number of times too. These things mostly happen when I'm doing something silly, and my brain/conscience tells me...- elliot42

Nice clean build, Vinnie. Looks great! Yes, this can be an expensive hobby. I find it's best not to think about the money spent, just about the enjoyment gained :D- elliot42

DIY Cable Gallery!!
As said by others, it's probably a better idea to move any discussion regarding Parrots, the ban, etc. elsewhere (another thread or to PMs, generally Mods/Admins won't discuss bans though) and keep this thread on topic. And not locked ;).- elliot42

Wow, stunning work, MrClean. I love the way the grain curves in the recessed parts of the Bijou.- elliot42

Looking for a new DMM, being wooed by Fluke
Thank you everyone. Problem solved, I've gone and purchased a Fluke 87-IV. An 87-V would have been more than enough for me, but they're so popular I've seen them going for not much less than the 87-IV, which is a better specced meter anyway. I've seen some go for cheaper but that's uncalibrated...- elliot42

Looking for a new DMM, being wooed by Fluke
Thanks Tangent, I've read some of your articles but I'll have another read and look at the forum links also. I had a look at the U1272A last night and while it does look quite nice, $460 new is a bit of a stretch over what second hand Flukes are available for.- elliot42
