Major static in older Audioengine A5s (audio attached)
For no clear rhyme or reason, my Audioengine A5s have started to emit the background noise that you can hear in the M4A enclosed in the attached ZIP file (recorded with the iOS Voice Memo app). It persists even without any audio input and even if I've unwired the second speaker (i.e., only the...- dudebrah

"Normals" 3D printed IEMs - anyone tried them?
Only hits I could find in my forum search are pre-launch or speculation. Very curious to see if anyone has given them a whirl. Website: http://nrml.com- dudebrah

Using Audioengine A5s but even 5% spkr vol is too loud. Suggestions?
I've hooked up Audioengine A5s to my new PC and they're just way too loud. For some reason I didn't have this problem on my Mac, but now with Windows 8.1, no matter whether I plug them into the on-board sound, my ASUS Xonar DG soundcard (back or front-panel), I need to keep system volume at...- dudebrah

looking for portable headphones/earbuds that are wireless
Update: Got the SOL Republic Tracks AIR wireless. Tried them on my commute today and definitely returning them. Was losing connection from my phone, which was in my pocket. Maybe indoor these would be fine (I found the ear pads too warm though), but it seems that the connection is too wonky...- dudebrah

Low (and I mean low - 6" height) profile subwoofer?
As you can see in the attached pic, I'm hard up for space to put a subwoofer. I'd really not have to remove the black shelf and I've read that putting the sub behind the wall isn't ... ideal. Any ideas/product suggestions?- dudebrah

I couldn't find this anywhere: are the Alpha Pads the same as last year's Dog Pads upgrade just rebranded? Or is this the 2nd version- dudebrah

Figuring out bitrates, downsampling, ODAC, O2 and OSX
Quote: K - found it and changed both the ODAC Input and Output (pictured) to 96khz, 24bit. Volume sensitivity drastically improved. No distortion -- but why do I have the distortion on the 44/16 FLAC? Will I have to change this setting back and forth between 44/16 and 96/24 each time I...- dudebrah

Figuring out bitrates, downsampling, ODAC, O2 and OSX
Hi everyone, I'm sorry for such a noob question (I spent a while searching the forums / wiki, Google but haven't come up with anything on point, which makes me think it's so fundamental I'm just coming across as mentally challenged): I've got some 24/96 FLAC files and trying to put...- dudebrah

Quote: Maybe I'm hard of hearing, but unless I'm using Audio Hijack Pro, I usually have to crank my E9 to 12 or 1 o'clock for "HQ" Spotify tracks, and even higher for FLAC files in VLC.- dudebrah
