Thanks for the response, as I was having difficulties finding out the difference. As these are for my MS-1is, v2 will probably be better as I want it to look as similar to the vinyl headband as possible. Are they both made out of lambskin, or only v3?

What's the difference between the v2 and the v3? Is it worth the $15 difference? From what it looks like, the v2 is maybe a bit thinner?

I also had an extremely hard time changing the gain. One of the screws on the front plate was "frozen" and no amount of hand-turning with my precision screwdriver would open it. Luckily, I found an electric drill with a phillips bit that did the trick.

Genre is key. I have yet to find an iem under $500 that sounds better than the e500 with jazz, hip-hop, and soul. That said, the base may be a bit powerful for classical albums as Yo-Yo Ma's Appassionato (rolled-off highs). However, this is no longer an issue with my new Headsix (woot!). And...
