The New Thinksound Woodies. ON2, Rain3 and MS02

I think these are so undemanding that almost any amp will work to improve the sound. I have been happy with a small FIIO E11, as well as a JDS Labs 02 amp. I would consider something of a modest nature.

The New Thinksound Woodies. ON2, Rain3 and MS02

They look good, they fit well, the quality belies the price, and they sound wonderful. Really like them myself.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I have done both things- mod the case and replace the cable. In the case of a cable I trimmed the plastic/rubber around the metal plug.

The New Thinksound Woodies. ON2, Rain3 and MS02

I'm going to play the money card- the price difference is pretty substantial here, so often comparing 2 headphones based on the large price difference automatically tends to favor the more expensive ones. I'm saying that it is on the face of it an unfair comparison.Do you have the Philips...

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread

I have been very satisfied with my H6's, and if you can get them at a discount, I recommend doing so. They are extremely comfortable, have uncolored sound, and are very finely and well made. No hesitation in recommending them at all. Warranted or not, I know there is a bias against them, when...

The New Thinksound Woodies. ON2, Rain3 and MS02

I received my ON2's a coupe of weeks ago, and have been using them exclusively ever since. I have spent quite a bit of time with them plugged into my CD player (no amp needed) and have been really impressed. I listen to a lot of old jazz (Miles, Bird, etc) plus some instrumental holiday music...

Reply to review by 'dalesky' on item 'thinksound On2 wood on-ear monitor headphone (natural black)'

I appreciate the 3 reviews of these. I am weakening, since Amazon has a good price, plus a couple that are used at an even better price. Question is, can I live without headphones that have wood?  I don't know!  I prefer over ear usually, but I have a couple of nice on ear also, such as Martin...

Review by 'dalesky' on item 'Sony MDRNC8/BLK Noise Canceling Headphone, Black'

Compared to nothing (in the way of noise cancelling) these are better than that. Damning with faint praise?  Yeah, I guess so, but really what can you expect for the price. Sony makes a product that generally is worth buying, if it meets your criteria. If in this case the criteria is cheap...

Review by 'dalesky' on item 'Bose QuietComfort 25 Headphones'

There seems to be a lot of issues with the sound quality for these 2nd gen Bose phones. These came out before wireless headphones were in any significant use, and when few other companies were making a serious attempt at noise reduction. Given the parameters that Bose used, which was the...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Not sure yet if I need another headphone, but I have an observation that applies to these, Vis-a-vis the left right confusion, and apparent difficulty in telling which is left or right. Try listening to Miles Davis A Tribute to Jack Johnson, track one (there are only 2 tracks) The drums will...

Review by 'dalesky' on item 'Master & Dynamic MH40'

I am not an obsessed audiophile, but have enjoyed headphones and music in general, for a very long time. Only recently, in the last 3 or 4 years, have I had been buying high quality headphones. I prefer closed over the ear, but since I enjoy them mostly at home, by myself, open are fine also. I...

    [Review] Meelectronics Atlas

I got a pair thru Massdrop, and for the money they are very good. Fold to a nice size, and came with a bag. They drive with very little power, and play loudly with no distortion. When I amp them they sound great. Very comfortable, and light weight. Meelectronics is known for value, which these...

Are the B&O H6 headphonesworth it?

Mikroski, sorry to jump in here. The only way to be sure is to try them for an extended period of time. If you buy them be sure you may return them and exchange for another brand.

Are the B&O H6 headphonesworth it?

It may be too late to be of any help here, but I think the H6 are worth the money. I bought them while traveling, and found them great for planes, and even better at home, since they don't isolate much on the planes. The build quality is extreme (great!) and the comfort is first rate. Sound is...
