The Most Annoying and Difficult game you've played.
I've never really understood all the talk about Demon's Souls being so difficult. I'm on my third playthrough with a level 128 character and never really had much of a problem. Sure you get killed a lot, but when you get killed it's because you made a mistake, so next time you learn from your...- Chrome Pumpkin

Desktop speakers vs. my Senn 595s?
I think you'd be pretty pleased with the A2, and don't be fooled, they have plenty of bass so long as you're not trying to rattle pictures off the walls or anything. I am listening to my A2s right now and am very impressed with the quality (and volume) of which they are capable.- Chrome Pumpkin

When the Hardware Vanishes
The only DAC that I've ever heard (outside of onboard DACs in CD players) is my Firestone Audio Spitfire. When I ordered it I was half expecting to not hear much of a difference at all. However, when I hooked it up and gave it a listen I was quite impressed; the sound was much cleaner and more...- Chrome Pumpkin

When the Hardware Vanishes
Yeah, I was thinking a DAC upgrade might be my next move. I'm going to try and hold off on that for awhile if I can, at least until the money tree sprouts some new growth!- Chrome Pumpkin

When the Hardware Vanishes
lol, I suppose I could have used a somewhat less misleading thread title! I've got to say, I'm so incredibly pleased with my system right now. What I'm worried about though, is when I start to wonder about more expensive gear. If this sounds this good, then what does that sound like?!- Chrome Pumpkin

When the Hardware Vanishes
I got my Purity Audio Caliente today, and have been listening most of the day. For the first time since getting into this headphone hobby I have finally experienced the disappearance of the gear, that point at which there is nothing to hear but the music. I was sitting on my couch, lights...- Chrome Pumpkin

REVIEW: Purity Audio K.I.C.A.S. Caliente home headphone amp - updated with comments on regular KICAS
I just got my Caliente this morning. Initial impressions are, as seems to be the norm, rather positive. Coming from a Little Dot MKII this is quite a revelation. Immediately I noticed much better instrument separation and clearer, more defined bass. Listening to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, I was...- Chrome Pumpkin
