The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Quote: Not sure where you picked up your 49990. However, the PCB should have it on there as to which way it should be oriented when putting the op-amp into your card. The little dot on op-amp that you took out, it should face in the same direction.- cdd3068

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Quote: I just switched from LME49720 to LME49990...I'm picking up my jaw from the ground still...I have the say the biggest difference is for me was the bass. It's tighter, more defined? The mids to highs are more smoothed compared to the LME49720. I actually turned OFF my EQ that I...- cdd3068

Best music to demo headphones
What are some good music tunes to fully immerse yourself into music and really show off your cans? I don't care what genre of music, but just looking for something to come back and say "wow that was amazing". Right now, I'm using Beyer DT-990 600ohm powered by an STX. Maybe some upbeat jazz? Any... -

Isone Pro - the best thing you could ever get for your headphones on your computer
Quote: Not sure with everyone else, but I'm using the older version by Jeroen Breebaart on his website...there is a free VST bundle that has some goodies. I'm sure the newer version is better, but at least you can see what is out there. http://www.jeroenbreebaart.com/audio_vst_jb.htm- cdd3068

A free parametric equalizer for Windows Vista, 7, and 8 that doesn't need ASIO or VST, it works inline at the OS level
I downloaded this and I've tried editing the default config file with increase/decreasing the preamp volume and making sure to save the file. However, I'm not noticing any difference in music playback. I'm not sure if this matters, but I'm using an ASUS STX soundcard and not onboard. This...- cdd3068
