Yeah, I'm weary about ordering to Canada from the US because of customs. Also, the Canadian peso is having a hard time, so I'd end up losing out even if I bought during sales. At least in my experience, that's what happens.

I actually own some V-Modas, I think they look too flashy for him though. Also I don't know that there are sales for president's day in Canada :P

I looked at what everybody suggested, but ended up going for the Shure srh440. Love the brand and detachable cable is really nice because it will break for sure, multiple times. As for the lack of velour pads, I guess it'll have to be fine.   Thanks!

Unfortunately IEMs won't work. They cause skin irritation in his ears which is why he needs headphones at least until his ear condition gets settled. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll look into those.
